Sorry morbeedo but I’m on vacation without WiFi and minimal cell coverage so I can’t play. Should have entered earlier.

Interesting tidbit we are on the east side of Lake Michigan which is EDT, but because the cell coverage is so bad our phones are sometimes displaying CDT. Must be from Wisconsin.

Started easy but didn't take long to descend into head-scratching territory.

A gentle note for future TDs: old people need BIG pictures to look at.

Sorry for being one of those with extraneous punctuation.

Whiffed on a couple questions -- this one was deceptively difficult. Nice job!

Um, you have "Frug" scored as a singleton while "The Frug" was named by two people. "Watusi" and "The Watusi" are both scored as singletons. It looks like your scoring algorithm may be identifying answers with and without the article as separate responses. Was that the intention?

Um, thanks. Should be fixed now. There's no algorithm per se - just a lot of manual data scrubbing to group like responses, correct spelling, remove extraneous characters, spaces, etc. I like to do all that work upfront to make the scoring go faster. Looks like I missed a few here

Re: TD387 - morbeedo's Revenge - Q3 Results

Post by 9021amyers »

The piped-in music at my work has been playing a lot of ABBA songs lately. When I was younger, the cable provider in my town had a channel that was essentially a nonstop Starz/Encore preview, where the same few movies were played over and over. I distinctly remembered one of those movies on rotation being about a woman desperate to get married over a soundtrack comprised entirely of ABBA songs.

I was halfway convinced that I had Mandela Effected Mamma Mia into existence a decade early, but a Google search for “movie about a wedding with ABBA songs” generated an immediate result for Muriel’s Wedding. A few days later, I finally get around to looking over this TD, and boom, Singleton!

Only lucky for that movie to have been fresh on my mind over the last couple of weeks.

(Unless this is a trap to make me confess to being an ABBA superfan; even being branded a cheater would be a less cruel fate than that.)

ABBA’s great! Muriel’s Wedding is a classic. Mama Mia? Not my thing but hey, more movie roles for women!

Interesting tidbit we are on the east side of Lake Michigan which is EDT, but because the cell coverage is so bad our phones are sometimes displaying CDT. Must be from Wisconsin.
Well, that’s disappointing. You should play after the fact and let us know how you would have done

Would you have accepted any movies that have parodied that scene?
