NEWBERY MEDAL WINNERS
3: Wayside School series creator Louis Sachar won in 1999 for this book where juvenile detainees have to dig the title objects.
6: In the 2013 winner, The One and Only Ivan is one of these apes; a 1933 film about another one raised Fay Wray to stardom.
9: Winning the medal in 1944 was this Esther Forbes book named after a fictional apprentice silversmith at the start of the American Revolution.
