And... my oversight in never having seen Chariots of Fire comes back to bite me yet again. Bah

It seems like everyone publicly associated with the Kennedy Assassination still living are PBS news dinosaurs. I had to clam it.

Not that I would have come up with the Scottish runner's name with different wording, but there have been two Paris Olympics, 1924 and 1900.

I was trying to choose between Lehrer and MacNeil, so I’m glad I didn’t.

The year would've provided an extra TOM, but isn't necessary to pin it. It could have just said "At the Olympics".

Chariots of Fire was the only way I was getting to Liddell.

I noticed a number of people using her first name only as an answer to one of the questions. I wonder if that will be acceptable?

The J! judges took just the first name in the 7/17/18 game and the SHC judges will accept it as well. Nothing in the category or clue's wording mandated a last name. She is famous enough to be known by first name only.

Chariots of Fire!!! Damnit, I had that image in my head but I couldn't translate it into a name.

Also annoyed with myself for missing Moyers, I was mostly ignoring the 'ordained' part (Omarosa? !@$!ing seriously??), so it didn't click the one time it should've been obvious.

I used first and last for the hell of it, but are there any other famous Omarosas out there?

Magna, thanks for putting Liddell as a 10-pointer! He's a personal hero of mine, as I am a runner (well, need to get back to it...) that later moved to the same country he did. I've visited his gravesite twice, and the first time was so overtaken I teared up. Not just because of the grave being there, but they've turned the building where he died into a really interesting museum for the whole concentration camp that had been on that site. Really interesting stuff there for a myriad of reasons.

Wasn't thinking of the year not being noted; the pedantic part of me saw "the Paris Olympics," and remembered that there have been two there. A good question that I would have missed anyway. :)

Just curious -- did others instaget those four-letter words, or was it necessary to brute-force any by going through the alphabet and trying possibilities?
Three of the five were easy for me, but "eave" and "maim" took some mental elbow-grease to call forth.

My experience with the USA Today & NYT crossword puzzles had all five easy-instas as all come up often enough.

Without qualification, I would assume it to be the most recent games held in the city: London is 2012, Los Angeles is 1984, etc.

Now that I think of it, each of the next four Olympics that have been announced will be repeat hosts. If the Turin-RomeCortina d’Ampezzo-Milan Italian bid for 2026 is successful, it would technically be the next five, between six cities.

For the 10 point question I got as far as "that guy from Chariots of Fire." I know what the movie is about, but I've never seen it, so I couldn't pull the name.

Second category was much easier for me than the first, which my score will be happy about.
