Summer Hiatus Challenge 2018--TOC Day 1
Welcome to the TOC.
If you're name is on this list, you're in the running for the championship. If not, you're welcome to play in this thread, and your responses will be scored separately in the "Consolation division".

AMENDMENTS IN THE SUPREME COURT
Notable Supreme Court cases related to specific Constitutional amendments.
2: 4th: Carpenter v. United States (2018) addressed the need for a warrant for location records created by these devices, whose search required a warrant in Riley v. California (2014).
4: 8th: The 5-4 decision Roper v. Simmons (2005) held that capital punishment for this group of people is unconstitutional; automatic life-without-parole for them was banned in Miller v. Alabama (2012).
6: 13th and 14th: John Marshall Harlan was the lone dissenter in the 1896 case where the Supreme Court ruled this mixed-race man's rights weren't violated by having to sit in a "separate but equal" railroad car.
8: 2nd: This was the second city to have a handgun ban invalidated by the Supreme Court; it was struck down in a 2010 decision incorporating the 2nd amendment against the states.
10: 1st: Chaplinsky v. New Hampshire (1942) first introduced this two-word term for unprotected speech "that by [its] very utterance inflict[s] injury or tend[s] to incite an immediate breach of the peace".
