Re: J! in the Media
I wondered if his new book would address the infamous wheelchair joke.
I guess this might be in reference to that. But what’s really bad is to get pilloried and have it coming, when a joke that made sense in my head turned out to be incomprehensible and awful on the screen. To try to add a joke to a world already too full of jokes, and to do it so ineptly that someone was hurt or insulted — what could be worse than that?
(I thought this was an excerpt from the book, but it looks like it's actually a stand-alone editorial.)

Colbert did a bit regarding Trebek's possible retirement last night. (2:48 if it's not queued up)
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

On FB there was a post from a very reliable source and J! Board member that Hulu starting tomorrow will show some J! tournaments from previous seasons in the S29-S31 range.

Slate has an article on a particular 1966 episode of GE College Bowl, in which Steve Chernicoff competed:

Season 35 is a few weeks away though not too early for the show to start with vague hints: https://www.newsweek.com/season-35-jeop ... ig-1083239

If I remember correctly there was a similar vague discussion before last season that ended up being Austins run.

Re: J! in the Media
The Season 34 Promo said "A new contestant you don't want to miss". Whereas the Season 35 preview is just saying there is something big.
It could possibly be another super champion if this pattern continues, but it could be about something we couldn't even assume about.

I wasn't sure if this belonged in this thread or Retaken Down. https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/lo ... 61721.html
Note the egregious misspelling in the article title.

I used to be AWSOP but wanted to be more theatrical.

Neat, thanks Mark. (That may just be because there aren't a lot of season 20 games on YouTube, but it's nice to be noticed.)
Not many people can say they've lost four times on Jeopardy!.

Alex Trebek Moderated a Gubernatorial Debate in Pennsylaniva -- It Didn't Go Well
How is it ironic, considering he's the host of a quiz show whose central gimmick is that the contestants ask the questions rather than the host?“The problem with this #PAGov debate is that Alex Trebek doesn’t seem to know how to form a direct, concise question,” commented Adam Bonin, an election attorney in Philadelphia who writes for the liberal Daily Kos blog. “Which is as ironic as anything I’ve ever seen.”

He was a rather odd choice to host a debate for governor in a state he doesn’t live in.alietr wrote: ↑Tue Oct 02, 2018 7:55 am Um ... oops ...
