TD 397 - SS (Final results)
This TD is called "SS" - which stands for "Simply Sports" and while the questions are indeed all related to things you might see on ESPN, everyone (even if not a big fan) should be able to come up with correct answers for most or all of them. Also, no letters to include with your responses.
Rules/Notes
1) Lowest point total wins; your score for each question is equal to the total number of players submitting that same answer
2) You may use one drop and take zero points for that question
3) You may elect to take the sheep (most popular) answer for one question
4) There is no bonus for not using the "drop" or "sheep", so you probably want to take the former and get a zero for one question
5) Wrong responses are the higher of either +10 points or the "sheep" answer +3
6) All answers are due by 8 AM Central time on Tuesday, October 9, 2018
7) Submit answers via this Google form or PM

11. Tennis - Name a male player with at least 5 Grand Slam singles titles in the Open era (15 correct answers)
12. Wild Card - Since I couldn't come up with a good question related to cornhole, dodgeball, hot dog eating or SpikeBall (all televised in recent months), we're using the World Series of Poker as the theme. Name a face card in the standard deck of 52 cards. (12 correct answers)
13. BONUS #1 - Choose one of the six categories (A-F) and give up to 5 answers for -1 each. You may also give more answers and go for the "most correct without error" bonus - with the top 3 in each category receiving -5, -3 and -1, respectively. (Points split in the event of ties.)
First error = No penalty, Second error = +1, Third error = 0 points for that question

B. Nicknames of current or defunct WNBA teams (23 correct answers)
C. NFL players with 10,000+ career rushing yards (31 correct answers)

14. BONUS #2 - The "SS" title of this TD is also the initials of a 1992 Olympic gold medalist who was born on the day (October 13) that final results will be revealed. For a bonus of -2, name that person.

Re: TD 397 - SS
Clarification Question for Bonus #1: When going for the top 3 most correct without error, are we still limited to providing 5 answers, or are we allowed to go beyond 5 answers, but only first 5 would count for the first part of the bonus?

Re: TD 397 - SS
Another clarification question for Bonus #1: Are men's and women's sports separate? ie. if someone said "Women's Tiddlywinks and "Men's Tiddlywinks", would those be counted as one answer or two? (Provided, of course, that tiddlywinks was a correct answer...)

Re: TD 397 - SS
Answers to clarification questions:
1) You can give as many answers as you wish, but only the first 5 will count for the first part of the bonus
2) Men's Tiddlywinks and Women's Tiddlywinks would be scored together under Tiddlywinks
Also, I added "singles" to both tennis questions - but the entrant(s) who submitted answers that would be correct if doubles were included before I made the change will be credited with a correct response since I failed to specify singles only.

I'm assuming that previous names of the stadiums (in bonus #1) are OK? Some of these stadiums have gone through a number of sponsors...

How lenient will the scoring be on Q4? Depending on the source, the same weight class can have several different names.

I am using a list found on Wikipedia. Most of those names are pretty "common".9021amyers wrote: ↑Thu Oct 04, 2018 9:11 am How lenient will the scoring be on Q4? Depending on the source, the same weight class can have several different names.

On question 3, did the team have to play the Celtics or Lakers in its current city, or can it have played them in their previous city and we just give the name of the current team?

Re: TD 397 - SS (Q1-Q3 revealed)
Darn TDs -- one of these days I may get the hang of it. Or not. Had the Pacers on my answer form after completing all the answers, went back looking for a likely sheep to drop, and for some reason Pacers jumped out at me. So I dropped what would have been a singleton. Rats!
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.
