Could you have won this game from the fourth podium just picking up the trash? Add up the value of the clues you got right, subtract the ones you would have rung in on and responded incorrectly, but DON'T include Bridget's DD because that money isn't available to your hypothetical self. The total is how much you would have had going into FJ. That's the money you have to bet against these positions:
$12400 right minus $1600 for misremembering the Sam Johnson quote and thinking patriotism was the last RESORT of a scoundrel. So...
Total going into FJ: $10800
My bet in that situation: All in since I've got exactly the same score as Dylan in 1st
Got FJ right so I definitely would have won. Would have lost otherwise.

Okay, who bet money on me having $0 in this situation?
I honestly have no recollection of the ostrich egg clue even being revealed. Just like I've seen the name "Bastille Day" about ten billion times yet never retained it.

Thank you! I've made the corrections (or at least made new and different errors). That means there's an extra $1600 to pick up for those who took the previous version.
IF YOU ALREADY TOOK THE POLL, YOU'LL HAVE TO TAKE IT AGAIN IF YOU WANT YOUR VOTES RECORDED. VERY SORRY.

Love this poll. 9,600 (assuming that Benedict Arnold associate clue counts) minus 2,000 (for "skew") = 7,600. I need to work on wagering strategy but betting 4,801 to shut J out sounds right, and I got FJ. So yes, I'm winning from 4th podium.

That "oblique" clue was miserable. I don't blame anyone for not reading the writers' minds on that one.

Your $1200 Majors has the wrong text.
I hate my job. Ok, at least changing that text didn't reset the counter to zero and force everyone to re-vote. It just means the 12 people who have already voted may not have known what they were voting for.
$9200 worth of trash going into FJ, would have wagered 3201 to cover a potential double from J. Got FJ right with Hawthorne and would have finished with $12,401.
Bridget was out of contention, so that strategy assumes I was in second place with leader Dylan betting to cover my double instead of J's.
I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.

The poll should have included whether you would have won the game from the fourth podium. (I would have won).
Polls are limited to 16 questions. I suppose I could have left out the DD or the FJ. But I figured people could self-report in the comments.
I would have only picked up $3,800 in LT assuming I would have negged by guessing Dave Barry for the Sedaris one. Not sure I would have in an actual game situation.
