Request for information regarding an upcoming episode (POTENTIAL SPOILERS)
For those of you who might know - when does this purported controversial, shocking wager occur? I am curious to see how plausibly it is “fixed.”

I have nothing to offer, but now I want to know what this refers to and where I can read about it. I'm apparently out of the loop.

Let’s see what transpires on air. I am thinking this might occur next week. I’ll let folks know what I have heard later this month.

No. And this is not necessarily imminent.

Ok - no inside information here, so let's speculate.
How about: someone who bet more than they had in final?

Re: Request for information regarding an upcoming episode (POTENTIAL SPOILERS)
I know nothing about it as well.
Wagering more than available in the FJ! round? Now that's impossible.
***********
For the speculation game I would guess the wager is either big to the good or big to the bad.
Beyond that it's best not to guess more as this thread should not get into current or future players.
Whatever is coming up will happen when it does and will not go unnoticed. If someone misses seeing it there are multiple ways to find out or watch what occurs.
Chill and wait seems best to me.

Has anyone ever tried to bet $0 on a Daily Double before Alex told them off?

Maybe bets too much in FJ in a runaway game, i.e. Cliff Clavin

Yes. That's how I learned there was a $5 minimum.
There was a game (IIRC, and before the tie rule) where the leader had exactly double second when he hit a DD on the last clue in DJ. Now that was a crappy situation.

The wager not only includes a certain amount of dollars, but also a certain amount of CENTS?
For example, $100.99.

Re: Request for information regarding an upcoming episode (POTENTIAL SPOILERS)
i can speculate as well as the next guy.
I think any illegal wager for a DD or FJ would be caught in real-time so that is unlikely. It's possible that the event is just a really poor bet but the OP referenced needing to "fix" the wager so I think that is unlikely as well.
I'll surmise that the situation is that a contestant bet big (or true DD) and then a subsequent reversal of a prior clue resulted in them actually having less money available to wager than they did when they made the wager. I know they try to address questionable rulings prior to wagering but perhaps one slipped by.
My second best guess is that there were back-to-back (or nearly so) daily doubles by two different contestants, and the first DD is reversed after the second has already been wagered and resolved.

Is this the silly season for J! fans? What the hell, it's fun.

Alex: "How much of your $800 do you want to bet?"
Contestant: "Let's go with eight."
Alex: "OK, for $1600 if you are right, [clue appears]"
Contestant: "Oh, I actually meant 8 dollars, not 800 dollars."

Re: Request for information regarding an upcoming episode (POTENTIAL SPOILERS)
So I will tell you what I heard.
From my understanding, someone made a very concerning wager on a daily double at some point in the season. I’m told it was a cryptic reference to a set of numerals that has meaning to white power nationalists.
I was also told that this was caught in post production. The producers initially were unsure as to what to do, but they talked to Sullivan Compliance about it. After some deliberations, it was decided to edit the bet to change its value, since the bet ultimately did not change the result of the game.
I am unsure as to which episode this may have occurred, only that it happened this season. I was told subsequently that now when you are being prepped for the show in studio, it’s explained to you that certain numbers you are no longer allowed to bet. Three examples are given, one of them being at this set of numbers in question. I’ll let you guess what the other two numbers are.
Anyway, that is what I was told.
