I'm writing this so anyone with a passing knowledge of film feels inclined to play. I'm talking to you, twelvefootboy!

For this one, I'm setting aside my diabolical elimination-based mini-TD format and reverting to the classic TD game, with one DROP and one SHEEP

See you Monday!
I already gave my answers for the mini-format. Just add 5 more Meryl Streeps. But sure, I'll come anchor the TD! Now back to our regular programming - I got some separation from the allsheep line and I'm gunning for CasketRomance. Tick. Tock.

13. BONUS ROUND - Since this quiz has an alphabet theme, Scattegories is back for a third (and final?) go-round. Give up to 8 answers (each beginning with a different letter) for one of the three categories below. [Each two correct answers = -1; Additional bonus for total singletons: 1-2 = -1, 3-4 = -2, 5-6 = -4, 7 = -6, 8 = -8; Submitting multiple answers that begin with same letter = 0] {Max bonus = -12}

A pretty even split in the options chosen as the breakdown was: A - 11, B - 12, C - 10 (+ 1 "pass"). There were also a few who submitted multiple answers beginning with the same letter and wound up with zeroes.

A. Presidential elections - People (1st or last name) to receive electoral vote for US President since 1948 (Per Wikipedia; Accepting first names as listed on the web page, so neither nor James or William would count)

Thanks for the TD. I knew learning about faithless electors would come in handy someday.

Your only non-singleton was my Edwards. Surprised more people didn't go for faithless electors. I couldn't for the life of me remember Hospers (only Nathan), which worked out for both of us. I decided to answer A-B-C-D-E-F-G-H, and Harry was a singleton.

Thanks for the TD, tried to get a little cute with the stadiums...I knew GA State was playing at Turner Field, but I didn't realize it had been renovated down so much since I believe it held like 55,000 for the Braves. UMass I knew played at least some of their games at Gillette, though I did think it was all of them since their stadium was so small.

Thanks for the wool.

Hooray! Thanks to the bonus, I met my goal of beating the ALL SHEEP by more than the winner's total!
EJ (22) + Tfb (65) < Allsheep (88)

Except for my willful ignorance on College Athletics, I applied the same skill set that got me a tie for 3rd on TD412 :lol: . I enjoy these for the brain candy, thanks for letting me play. I cannot imagine how much work went into processing the bonus questions!

I guessed you were recalling from memory a list of college teams playing in NFL stadiums from a few years ago, when UMass did play in Foxboro full-time, and Georgia State shared the Georgia Dome with the Falcons.

I think UMass transitioned to FBS football with plans to join the Big East, which would have required using Gillette Stadium for their home games. When the Big East’s football schools transformed into the American in 2013, UMass was left without a conference, and no longer needed the use of such a large facility.

(I'm a half-BC fan so I'll add some local knowledge here)..

Not certain about the Big East part, but from what I've gathered over the years, they only started playing at Gillette because longtime venue McGuirk Stadium (on-campus) was undergoing renovations to meet D-I standards. Hence, the 2012-13 slate at Gillette.

UMass is now a football independent of course, so they have kept a contract to keep playing at least one game a season at Gillette to help attract big-name schools. With that comes some extra revenue that they would not get playing at McGuirk. It's a bit clunky, but I understand why they do it. UMass needs a conference so they don't need to rely on the paychecks of big-name schools and can transition to McGuirk permanently, but unfortunately their location/success level places them in no-man's land when it comes to FBS conferences.
