The players were 1/6 on big clues. Ouch. Colby was the closest on the FJ! clue so a little justice that his team moves on.

DD3 for 15600-15600 against 4800 & 4900 at the time did not work out for Alex. Cue up the gif for great vengeance and furious anger.

Today felt like I was in the Twilight Zone as I was 4/4 with no doubt in the bunch on the big clues.

Roger & Alex getting bounced was a double play of tough outs dismissed.

Two games to go. Should be something else next week. Can't wait.

WOW. Not how I thought this match would turn out all. Would've been the perfect time for Alex to bet small, but it's just not how he's wired. Then Buzzy missed FJ anyway, so who knows how the math would've worked out.

FJ was such a cinch that I feel like I've fallen into an alternate dimension. Obama no (senator), W no (governor), Clinton no (governor), HW (VP etc), Reagan (gov), Carter (gov), Ford (never won), Nixon (VP etc), LBJ (VP etc), JFK (senator etc), Eisenhower -> 1952 (and not 1956, when the elected incumbent won), done. Never would've predicted a TS.

I admit, I didn't think much of team Colby's chances going in, but into the finals they go. I'll stick with my prediction of team Brad winning it all.

Electoral history Finals can sometimes be deceptively tricky in a 30 second timespan, but I'm still mad at myself for missing this one. Went backwards roughly 20 presidents and somehow skipped over Eisenhower completely. Wrote 1828 (Jackson) just to have something.

What a tremendous game. Congrats to Team Colby for fighting back from near doom to finalists. Go Team Ken next week!

Obviously Colby knew the right person in FJ but picked his second term (when he ran for re-election) rather than his first (when the clue would have applied).

I made this mistake as well. I had it pinned to Eisenhower, wrote down 1952, then realized "wait, he won in '56 also," so I changed my answer, completely forgetting that his first four years counted towards the clue.

On the bright side, my Coryat today was the strongest of the tournament. These felt like easy boards, IMO.

Tough break for Alex and Team Buzzy as well as Team Austin, but I'm kind of glad to see Team Colby advance. Colby and Pam each missed a shot against Ken and Brad in the BOTD by losing to Roger, but now they both get a shot at those two in part by beating Roger.

This should be a very good finals, but I'll be rooting for Team Colby. I'm always someone who roots for the underdog.
