Apparently there is a cottage industry in clickbait articles denying she is retiring.

Re: J! in the Media
These are not all reruns, I assume the article just meant in this specific week Judy was in reruns. Wiki says they make 260 new episodes per year, even more than Jeopardy, but apparently some weeks have more than one new episode a day so there are still some weeks of reruns throughout the year. (Again this is from wiki so take with whatever amount of salt you prefer.)Robert K S wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 4:48 pm Does anybody else find it hard to believe that Judge Judy reruns have been beating new Jeopardy! in the ratings for 40 weeks?
It does say it's been the highest rated show in first-run syndication for the last nine sesaon so people do love them some Judy!

Here's Alex's GMA interview with fellow cancer survivor Robin Roberts. He descibes the effects of his ongoing medical treatment and also touches on Holzhauer's J! run.

That was a really good interview. Alex looked and sounded great, and I liked his attitude towards what he's going through as well as his candor. I didn't think it was possible for me to admire him more than I did before watching the interview.squarekara wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2019 11:01 am Here's Alex's GMA interview with fellow cancer survivor Robin Roberts. What? No other player both played a positive number of games and had positive earnings? Big if true!

Re: J! in the Media
Someone on here mentioned that they do crosswords on the Shortyz app (sorry, don't remember who), and that got me hooked. Just did the Jonesin' Crosswords from May 2, and 59-across is J! related. Let's do an apt clue.
CROSSWORD CLUES "A"
"Common Daily Double gesture (and bet) from "Jeopardy!" whiz James Holzhauer" (3, 2)
ETA: It was boson who got me hooked on the app. Thanks! It's a pretty good app for a slight brain workout.

Re: J! in the Media
No link, sorry - I don't know if the show is even available online. But this morning on CNN's Smerconish there was a segment on how Holzhauer is "ruining" Jeopardy by "gaming the system" and making it impossible for anyone else to have a chance. A 5-time champion from the max-5 era, whose name I unfortunately didn't catch (now a university professor) agreed with Chuck Lane that Holzhauer is a menace and claimed that he has "figured out the algorithm" by getting the buzzer rhythm , going after DDs and high-value clues, and betting calculatedly. (Where was he during Chu's and Jacob's runs, among others?). He wasn't a fan of Jennings either.
He also claimed that Holzhauer is calculating to the dollar how much he can bet(as if that's a bad thing!), which also shows he wasn't paying attention since James mostly bets using favoured dates and leaves money on the table.
All good publicity for J!, of course.

The 5-time champ from the CNN clip was season 10 5-timer Tom Nichols: http://www.j-archive.com/showplayer.php?player_id=5111
Not many people can say they've lost four times on Jeopardy!.

Well, after all his talk about having a huge advantage on the buzzer after two games, he was in last place going into FJ in game 4. And then made the suicide wager. So perhaps he's more than a bit jealous over someone actually knowing how to play the game.teapot37 wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2019 12:23 pm The 5-time champ from the CNN clip was season 10 5-timer Tom Nichols: http://www.j-archive.com/showplayer.php?player_id=5111
