Good enough for me as I have made that edit as well as eliminating the [sounded like] qualifier. Thanks.MinnesotaMyron wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2019 7:58 pmI side with the penguin.

Is the stray close parenthesis on Davd's FJ! response intentional?MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 11:23 am I added 7/15/93 (Seniors QF4): http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=6403

No, it must have been some kind of muscle memory for incorrect responses to close it after the question mark. It's gone. Thank you.MinnesotaMyron wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 12:00 pmIs the stray close parenthesis on Davd's FJ! response intentional?MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 11:23 am I added 7/15/93 (Seniors QF4): http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=6403

Minor nitpick: Wasn't the tournament called the "Seniors (plural) Tournament" by 1993?

Yes. It's a necessary correction and thank you for posting. I added the "s" where needed and I'll try to copy/paste the right thing tomorrow.Jeff-thecdboy wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 12:51 pm Minor nitpick: Wasn't the tournament called the "Seniors (plural) Tournament" by 1993?

Thanks for uploading these! I've spent the last couple evenings reading news articles about real estate as the company I work for plans to invest in flats for sale in Berlin, and it soothes me to be able to put some old Jeopardy episodes in the background while I'm working... My wife doesn't necessarily agree, but it pays the holidays, so she puts up with it

Well, I had some free time at work tonight, and remarkably archive.org is poking through the firewall, so I was able to get the video.Jeff-thecdboy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2019 11:36 am Pannoni4 has posted the May 14, 1991 (1991 College Semifinal #2) episode on archive.org:
Tuesday, May 14, 1991, College Championship semi #2, David Morris vs. Kelly Barbour vs. Tim Lakin.

There were some tough spots in this board. I personally had trouble with WAR IN THE GULF, with clues I might have picked up at the time, but which are certainly footnotes anymore. I will pick the $300 clue as clue of the game, simply for being a fun fact:
Said one way it means "clash"; the way Bush says it, it means "a shoeshine boy"
Spoiler
What is Saddam? I did the best I could at transcribing the phonetics of how Alex differentiated them. I personally always say "Suh-dom", which probably doesn't mean anything.
Oh, and speaking of pronouncing things 2 different ways, I also had to demonstrate the varying pronunciations in STATE CAPITALS for $200 (J!), for obvious reasons.
Some unusual capitalization in ABBREVIATIONS for $500:
David forgot the category in FAMOUS WOMEN for $400 (DJ!). He'd been unsuccessfully DD hunting the whole game, but by this point Tim was pulling away.
Is there another archive.org game recently uploaded? [Yes, one page back.] I doubt I'll get to it tonight, but I've got three more overnights coming up, so there's a good chance for later in the week. I hope I'm not stepping on anything Mark has planned.

Just to note: Marilyn Kneeland, Hugh Murphy, and Will Herrera played in the same quarterfinal match for that short list of that happening in tourney play.

Re: New old games in the J! Archive
I know you know this, but just in case others reading the thread do not -- there were only 39 weeks of new episodes in Season 1, followed by 13 weeks of reruns, which were given new show numbers (196 to 260).Robert K S wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 12:47 pm Show # Episode (by air order)

Re: New old games in the J! Archive
And there were also only 39 weeks of Season 2, but without new show numbers for the summer reruns. Confusing!

Re: New old games in the J! Archive
I added what I have of 5/16/88 (Seniors SF1): http://www.j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=6409
Pic of Franceline Turner who played Peggy Kennedy & Ed Cohen:
Alex mentioned that Franceline won her QF game (QF5) which as far as I know I unfortunately do not have. Her last name and occupation come from chat time.
One other note from the tourney is 12 players came on stage after F2. The ones not seen: D.J. Smith, Bob Winthrop & Katie O’Callaghan.
Today will conclude my annual heavy dose of input June – August. I need a break after dealing with Ed & Franceline today. September – May I will get at least one S18 game in each month with the expectation I have most if not all of the ones not filled in from Feb. – April 2002.
With Millionaire off the schedule I may direct some of that free time to also try to occasionally add some more tourney games, though no promises.
A rough count has about 150 tourney games still missing. It’s a ways to go though the number is better than it was in May is the way I look at the situation.
Today should also complete the filling of the requests posted in July. For Ivory: 2/19/93 and 7/13/93 were already in the Archive a while ago based on their ID numbers.

DJ Smith was DQ'd after the first round heats due to some unspecified ineligibilty issues. Not clear about BW and KO'C.
