Oil tycoon and corporate raider T. Boone Pickens has died at the age of 91. In the 1980s, Pickens switched from drilling for oil to plumbing for riches on Wall Street, leading bids to take over such oil companies as Gulf, Phillips, and Unocal. Later in his career, he championed renewable energy, including wind power, arguing that the United States needed to reduce its dependence on foreign oil.

Rafa Nadal won his 4th US Open on Sunday and it was his 19th Grand Slam overall. He’s one behind Federer at 20. The graceless Federer neglected to congratulate Rafa.

Eddie Money has died at the age of 70 following a battle with esophageal cancer. In 1978, he hit the charts with the singles “Baby Hold On” and “Two Tickets to Paradise.” After struggling with drug addiction, Money made a comeback in 1986 with the hit single "Take Me Home Tonight," a duet with 1960s legend Ronnie Spector.
Money's grandfather, father, and brother were members of the New York City Police Department, and he himself was an NYPD trainee before moving to California in 1968. His birth name was Edward Mahoney.

Please try to leave commentary out of this thread.
Also, J! doesn't tend to go too deep in minutia, sports or otherwise. E.g., Andreescu is fair game, but anything about the match other than the end result will be too obscure. Wide net, shallow depth.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Jojo Rabbit, a film written and directed by Taika Waititi (who also stars as Adolf Hitler), wins the Toronto International Film Festival. They won't specifically ask about that. But this has been a media darling of a film, so get used to it early
