We welcome Ross Martin to the J-Canon as a correct response. Can Mark name his most famous TV role? I couldn't. He has previously (which is to say later) appeared in clues asking for the name of his show and the name of his character.
...
The clue count sits at 384,999. Next clue in flips the odometer to 385,000.
Yes, however you want to rotate Ross Martin, his character or the show is fine by me as I have known those since seeing reruns when I was in grade school. The opening and filling in the sections at breaks was very cool.
Ross Martin is in a pretty good episode of Columbo that includes Kim Hunter and Don Ameche.
It was not until the 2010s that I saw Ross Martin play the villain in 1962's Experiment in Terror which is a delight for S.F. scenes (including Candlestick Park) and Lee Remick and Stefanie Powers. Glenn Ford is Glenn Ford, reliable as always.

A search of "weightman" will get you to the link to see the games. 1 down and 3 to go.
It felt appropriate there was an "Orson" clue in this after the news or Mr. Bean's death today.
Not the first time and not the last time was an example of Alex blowing a (Edibles $400) clue and causing it to be thrown out (not replaced).
Dennis could just as easily as Judy won this game and in an alternate universe he is a 5x champ. He deserved to lose though for being ill-prepared to handle DD2. Dude!
Pro tip: If a top box clue in THE ALPS is not the Matterhorn then guess Mont Blanc.
For a top row clue, that was a bit of a dirty trick. But I agree that the rebound was obvious.
I love how Alex asks her "Really?" when she wagers $100 on the DD in that category. Yes, Alex. We've just been triple-stumped on the two EASIEST clues in this category. What makes you think I'd want to bet more? Me, I might have bet a lot more, but I got the first (admittedly on the rebound) and second easily. The third was similarly easy, but not for someone with no clue on the first two. Mary made the right wager.
Counting the rebound, I almost ran that category but choked on the $2k clue. Also, in real life, I doubt I'd have the confidence to pull the trigger on my correct guess for the $1600 clue.
Aww, it turns out I'm not the only contestant to respond "What is HotBot?". Nearly 11 years later, though, I'm still the last. And I'm still unique in the Archive for responding with Spybot a year after that.
Continuing on the first India Cooper tape, we've got January 13, 1992, Rachel Kranz vs. Robert Burgess vs. Liz MacGillicuddy-Lucas. Rachel was a writer who seems to have been much more successful as a co-writer/ghostwriter, and then late in her life as a poker player. She passed away in 2017.

Also new to the J-Canon is this term, from the clue I'll pick as clue of the game, a triple stumper at BUSINESS TALK for $1000:
A Green River ordinance is a local law that regulates or prohibits this type of selling
Spoiler
What is door-to-door? It comes from the town of Green River, Wyoming, which was the first city to enact such laws.
It looks like Final Jeopardy is still accurate today. Not 100% sure though.

Re: the $100 clue in HOLIDAYS & OBSERVANCES:
Spoiler
We call that Black Friday now. Who was that someone who came up with that particular name?
I'm going to let this game stand mostly for itself (though some longtime members of this community will definitely recognize one of the challengers), but apparently, during Season 1, the "tie for second" rule was broken by having the player who gave the most recent correct response picking first in Double Jeopardy!

Nice addition. Yeah, I've been around long enough to recognize one of the challengers and was surprised he only posted once on this board.
My memory is fuzzier for his game show rap sheet details although I'm pretty sure the shows were Greed and WB$M.
Tough to run into a future ToCer and Season 1 only adds to the difficulty for how ringing in worked that first season.

He was more prolific under the name Sage on the Hudson.

There was a discussion regarding a game last week where the winner had a lock with a bunch of negs. In this game the winner had a lock with 10 negs(7 in the first round), 2 of them on DD's. Wow.

Thanks and thanks. I gave Avie two more lines for his J! bio page.
