I thought there might be more, but thanks anyway. I will need to go back and enter some of the FJ! explanation at a later time. This FJ! reminded me of a quote from Friday contestant Lynn Q. Yu's blog, about "all the famous US naval quotes (she's) now committed to memory." I bet she'd have batted away this FJ! clue with hesitation.MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 6:13 pmIt's just standard QF #5 remarks for announcing the QF winners and wildcards. I have QF 2-4 and just have not got around to getting them in yet.MinnesotaMyron wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 5:46 pmI've got a little time this afternoon, so I've started it. If anyone would like to earn their Junior Woodchuck "Assistant Archivist" badge, the computer I'm on has very poor speakers, & I'd certainly appreciate if anyone could transcribe Alex's closing remarks during FJ!, especially where he introduces the semifinalists.
If that is what you want:
Bob Carman 9300
Cecilia Moore 13400
Anne Laird 3799
George Soule 9800
Wildcards
Bernard Kiernan 10000
Judy Colby 6800
Margot Cameron 4000
Arnold Yellin 2700

1990 Senior's Tournament semifinal game #5, Bernard Kiernan vs. Hank D'Angelo vs. Louise Clemens, whose "originally from" was given simply as "Connecticut". All 3 players played very well. The AUTHORS category in DJ! was pretty hard. It adds to the J-Canon new works for Edna Ferber ("Saratoga Trunk"), Taylor Caldwell ("This Side of Innocence" & "The Devil's Advocate") and Edith Sitwell ("I Live under a Black Sun", although the clue is mostly name recognition), which you may as well put on flashcards. Definitely put "King Rat" by James Clavell in there, if you don't already know it.
