Wasn't the "MST3K" question about the credit "guest star"? That seems to make much less sense in a movie than "special appearance."

I actually just watched the 1968 film "Wild in the Streets," in which Ed Begley (Senior) got a "guest star" credit. The fact that Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil's "Shape of Things to Come" wasn't even nominated for Best Original Song that year is a travesty.

Those suddenly popped up in my YT feed. They even have them organized by season. I watched a couple and they got repetitive in a hurry.

I can’t imagine watching hours of Alex telling people they can’t play FJ, but whatever floats your boat.

Thanks, I knew I had seen that credit somewhere recently! I too watched the movie when TCM aired it. In this case, if it has any meaning, I'd read the credit as a gesture of respect for a representative of Old Hollywood, bringing his credibility to a youth exploitation picture. He and Shelley Winters were troupers, giving their all to the weird stuff they were asked to do.
It's a surprisingly good movie.

One of these days if we can ever find more full episodes of the Trebek era I might put one together of all 37 seasons worth of Alex telling people "you won't be around for Final Jeopardy!", "Bad news for (insert player's first name here)", etc. for YouTube, and like I do with the Full Credit Roll compilations that I do, I won't ID the name of the show.

Oooh! Oooh! Can you do one of every time he says "No harm, no foul"?

Or, here's my absolute dream, but you'd really need the cooperation of Ron Howard. A supercut of every time Alex referred to a contestant's savvy wager in the previous game and every time he talks about how "very often" the contestant in a distant third on the first day of a two-day final ends up winning the whole thing. These would be followed by a narrator saying "It was NOT a savvy wager" and "It's actually fairly rare" as appropriate. :D

I miss that man.

Another interesting line-up of names on The Chase.

Tudor/Liz(Elizabeth)/Henry/Mary

I wonder what name combinations they will do next?

My library added access to http://www.PressReader.com. It allows you free access to publications all over the world, including many US newspapers. No more getting stuck on firewalls for publications I just want to see a single article in.

Deep archives, or just fairly recent editions?

Yeah, for some reason it's sticking a 'jboard.tv/' in the address.

Yeah, it's doing something weird to the URL. Just go to PressReader.com. I haven't thoroughly explored to see if it's current or archives as well.

It seems that using URL tags with addresses that don't have http at the start causes the software to assume it's linking within J!Board.

Thanks, Sg. Yeah, that works and I made the fix. I thought adding the WWW might do it, but you're right.

There was a Facebook post today that mentioned an upcoming category to be played in Monday, December 7th's episode and the fact there will be a clue about the entity that made the post.

Here's the post if you would like to know:

For an added spoiler, based on this video game series(of which I am a huge fan), and the category being LITERARY VIDEO GAMES, I can tell you exactly what the clue will be about:
Spoiler
The Bioshock franchise is based off of Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand

I'm not the defending Jeopardy! champion. But I have played one on TV.

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (AP) — A man who sued his parents for getting rid of his pornography collection has won a lawsuit in western Michigan and can seek compensation.

U.S. District Judge Paul Maloney ruled in favor of David Werking, who said his parents had no right to throw out his collection. He lived at their Grand Haven home for 10 months after a divorce before moving to Muncie, Indiana.

Werking said boxes of films and magazines worth an estimated $29,000 were missing.
...
The legality of the ruling is pretty straightforward though.

I was just playing this Sporcle quiz: https://www.sporcle.com/games/MSUKent/p ... a-face-iii and now I've got a question. Why did Noël Coward pronounce his first name with only one syllable or am I wrong about the pronunciation? The presence of the ë would suggest it should be pronounced No-el. Hmm...
