Aren't you required to be paid up before the new season starts if your membership expires during that season?
Don't know the answer to that. Thorsten may allow a grace period, given that a season is only a few weeks long, and certainly the player would be given notices to re-up once the membership lapsed. Seems like a pretty big coincidence that the player went inactive as soon as the season ended. If something nefarious was judged, then the player would have been terminated and the standings adjusted immediately. I think a few years ago I was in a rundle where a player was terminated mid-season and the standings were adjusted.
Yeah, I agree. Your explanation certainly seems to make the most sense. I'm confident you can't begin a new season without being paid up, but not sure about what happens if your membership lapses mid-season.
Membership can't lapse during the season though...? If you're paid up in time to participate for the season, you're good for that whole season.

A quarter begins with an LL season, followed by offseason events (MiniLeagues and One-Days). The quarter officially begins when registration ends for the quarter's LL season, and ends at the registration deadline for the next season. Memberships expire at the registration deadline, so members who are not current with dues will not be able to participate in the LL season.
back to B Taiga - my rightful and true place. It's probably just me, but I have significantly less fun in A. I have no desire to be the top of that rundle, or even stay in there.
I was 21,887th lucky out of 25,079 (13th %ile). So yeah, it was a tough season.
I find it highly amusing that MeyerT and GroceV are considered the 54th and 55th luckiest LLamas this past season. Yesh, if luck means that you know the answer to every question, then I guess that's luck....

Nah, same. As a (possible?) fellow AAAA leaguer, it's nice to be called up, but after a few seasons facing Kershaw, Hendricks, deGrom and hoping they make mistakes...it gets draining. (I would like 8 more A wins tho...)

Italy G 64, Women in Sports G59 (with a certain FrumkinJ).
Also, my hometown that I lived in until I was 18 is mentioned in the intro to the Ohio cities / counties 1DS! So that was exciting to see when I first opened it.
In the "You" 1DS, I got 10 right and finished in 69th, even with a money on an incorrect response. The last question was basically "name a number from 1 to 5, most popular is correct"; I decided to take a flyer on that one, and it didn't pay off. Even if it had, there was still a better moneying choice, and I could have finished in fourth place even without guessing the "right" number. But I'm still proud of myself for correctly guessing the Italian author and aggressively moneying that (it turned out to have played the hardest).
Being half-Italian American hasn’t really helped in the Italy ML, just like 9 years of Catholic school hasn’t translated to success with Jeopardy Bible content ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Does LL have an award for egregiously bad defense in a match? Yesterday, in the Italy mini-league, I lost 4(4)-5(2). That performance is worthy of former Lions' coach Matt Patricia.

From the LL glossary: Buckner
(n.) Paying homage to the end of Game 6 of the 1986 World Series, a Buckner is an incident in which a player gets two more questions correct than their opponent, and still loses the match. Buckner as a noun refers to the incident itself, and can be used by both the winner and the loser to describe it.
I thought I had no chance because I only got one question right, but I won on a buckner.
I lost yesterday on a buckner — that’s the last time I ever submit answers without looking at my opponent’s Player Data chart!
(v.) To get two more questions correct but still lose the match. Invariably due to catastrophically bad defense.
I was excited about getting five questions right today, until I found out I had bucknered.
The Buckner wins and losses show up on your personal records stats . But I don't think any ML's or 1DS stats show up there .
Sorry about your Lions. I am a closet fan of the Lions and the Jets.

In Group 175 in the Astronomy Mini-League. I guess the assignments must be made randomly, because there are 176 groups and I registered for this one several weeks ago.
And what happens on my first day? Despite answering 4 questions correctly, I was up against the ONE person in my group to cop a 9(6).
I would've bet on Egypt having double digits of UNESCO sites...(and, I kinda sorta did...picking Libya, which has five.)
Turns out South Africa is the only [African country] with double digits...and even that's on a technicality. (One site is shared, so if we measure it like sacks, SA only has 9.5...)
