S1 5xer Paul Croshier (Jan 1985) his first appearance was on the 10/12/84 episode, due to a ruling which the times up signal sounded before Paul could make a wager on a daily double in the DJ! round.

*************
Paul called for a clue/amount at the end of the DJ! round in the Oct. 12 game and time ran out before it was revealed. It was a DD. Paul was brought back in 1985 and that is when he won five games. Paul was in QF3 the following season, so we know 6, 7, or 8 champs qualified before he did.
What's weird is that the edit of 10/12/84, at least the one that played on TuneIn today, makes no reference to any Daily Double being there at all. Paul called clue & amount and was interrupted by the round-end signal—something which I would see to be a normal occurrence. There was no Daily Double sound effect at all.
My guess, without knowing or recalling, is either on Paul's return or a post Paul made, that it was explained that Paul would have played a DD in the $600 box if it had been uncovered. Perhaps, with it being a Season One game, the show felt they had somehow wronged Paul?

The TuneIn version does not, and probably never did, have the DD sound and I'm guessing the information is from some other source or recall. I'll email my source for clarification.

Bill Clippel sp? run was after Liz Cacesse run. This is based on after listening to Jeopardy radio on 9/27. Ric Moser 12/7-12/13. Chris Hamilton 12/14. Larry Floyd 12/17-12/21. Jerry Frankel 12/24-12/28. Phil Wilson 12/31. Liz Cacesse 1/1-1/7. Bill Clippel 1/8-1/10?
For what it's worth, with my knowledge of the names of the area, I believe that it is significantly more likely to be spelled Klippel than Clippel.

Switzer and Epstein seem straightforward. For Willa's surname I went with Block while just as easily it could be Bloch. Add an "A" and/or "U" in there and it make more possible spellings.

RELIGIOUS HOLIDAYS off audio only was not a lot of run to track down what I was hearing for the special days.

40+ TuneIn games remaining to archive and perhaps I'll dare to try one of the S1 ones next time.

Even though Johnny & Alex said it multiple times I could not get beyond "Man" for Andi's last name. I heard anything from Manvrill to Manferil. Steve, of course, could be Petersen instead of the Peterson I gave him.

Season 1 is crazy with the ringing in sound, speed of clue reading and audience gasps/applause. The next time I get an audio-only oldie in I have to go back to S7 my sanity.

Sorry to disturb your sanity but J22 needs another r in Mr. Fine's first name.

Good job. S1 is bad enough to do with video.

I'm taking my first crack at archiving from one of those TuneIn audio recordings. It's easy to tell already that I'll be guessing at where to place commas or not to place them, "first" vs. "1st" and whether to use "and" or "&".

No doubt I'll embarrass myself along the line for what I hear such as the Mohorovicic clue when I first heard "crushed metal", then "crust metal" and finally went with "crust-mantle".

For the players, Alex called Rick Zimmerman, Richard. If he's playing as Ric, so be it. Extra information for the detective game is Rick collects Batman memorabilia.

Sue's last name I entered as "Caroza" while it could be Carosa (or Corosa) and the Rs and Ss/Zs could, of course, be doubled. Extra info is she coached a high school academic team.

Between posts here and correction suggestions I will fix things as I can. Whatever gets in is better than nothing. I went for a S7 game as S1 ones (there are some to be input) can be more of a hassle, even with rounds ending early for fewer clues.
Given how it says that Sue is from Akron, and she mentioned coaching a high school academic team, it's pretty close to 100% likely that she's Sue Korosa, the seven-time OAC format state championship winning coach from Copley High School in the Akron area, and the 2005 winner of the Benjamin Cooper Academic Ambassdor Award for her outreach work to get a lot of schools in Ohio to participate in academic competitions.

For Ed Allen I was able to find his Edward Allen books on Amazon.
For Marc Pais it could be Mark for the first name and Pay or Paye for the last name?

The Audio DD is one that can be called before the music begins.

I'd bet that we're looking at Andi Manpearl for the name, as this LinkedIn profile does match the timeframe for her market research profession and her locale. I did find the same profile on FB and sent her a message, so should I get a confirmation on this, I'll update it here.

Before revealing the FJ! clue Alex gave $600 back to David in explaining there was a malfunction with the signaling device. I took my best guess for what happened thinking DJ25 was likely the problem spot. The numbers are correct since I have my scoresheet for comparison. The scoresheet also lets me know it was Adrianna with 2 Ns and not one.

Dolber is what I heard for Mike, although the way I sometimes hear names it could be Dolfur, Dolver, Dolbur...

Alex reads the clues well and that helps a lot with archiving audio only games.

********
goroshnik: I'll keep Andy Man? for now, but it's easy to switch to Manpearl if you get confirmation. Thanks for working on the correct name.

Even though I added some of the banter with Alex and the players there was even more I skipped doing. Definitely a Season 1 game.

Here is an article promoting the UTOC that focuses on Dan Melia but mentions Maggie (they worked together at the time) from the game you just entered. The article incorrectly says she appeared in 1986.

Mark Richards, a season 1 contestant coordinator, used to have two full practice sessions uploaded on YouTube, one of which I realized must have come from a Jerry Frankel tape day. Now he just has a few clips. (I found the relevant full one archived and watchable here.)

Maggie appears in this clip: https://youtu.be/Bumn51ltvPM (The clip also has a Fran, which seems be the player of unknown last name in Jerry's second game.)

Note: She apparently signed in as "Maggi"; a Google search for "Maggi Sokolik" brings up results that seem to corroborate this spelling, but then again, you can also find recognizable pictures of her by searching for Maggie. Nevertheless I humbly suggest she be archived with the E-less spelling.

This one has a Randy in it, whom I assume is Mr. Thompson: https://youtu.be/VeQQMCRciGc
