The J! trend holds that if you win $300K in regular play then you go past $400K.

Yeah, those are indeed some noisy things in A LOUD CATEGORY. J! seems to be slipping in more audio type clues here and there.

SECONDS IN HISTORY had me try one precall for fun with the Hamilton-Burr duel.

The real clue had me match Cris although I did consider the miss the challengers had.

Same decision, what decided it for me was that most know the first ship at the one. The other, not so much.

Do you think they'd accept Plymouth Rock?

Grrr, football game ran long and my affiliate cut out the first 12 clues. What a comeback by the Cowboys though!

I would have written Plymouth without much confidence. Something about the word “harbor” didn’t quite line up right in my head, so I was casting up and down the eastern seaboard for something else. Funny how that can go.

Cris is certainly putting on a show. It’ll be interesting to see how he fares in a future TOC. Harbor steered me to the correct answer in FJ, as well as the category title. I did consider briefly the alternative answer.

Once again, the opportunity for "Who?" was missed... maybe next time...

FYI: "Flower Song Duet" is also good. (I just meant to say "Flower Song", also good, but the "duet" in quotes forced my brain to tack it at the end...there's enough references out there at least so it's right by now)

"Plymouth Rock Harbor"?
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.

I considered changing to Jamestown, I was thinking the right response was too obvious, but I believe I've read about the Fortune somewhere and I stuck with it...

They were right to neg Cris for “Herbie the Love Bug,” but that’s a tough miss as I suspect a lot of people think of that as the actual title of the films. (There was a short-lived TV series that did have that title.)

I got FJ, but I agree with those who looked askance at "harbor," though I can't think of a better word myself. M-W says it can simply mean "a part of a body of water protected and deep enough to furnish anchorage ... especially: one with port facilities" which seems to fit the bill.

I bit on that too, though I suppose "Herbie"'s appearing twice in the clue indicated against its being part of the answer. I saw "Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo" in the theatre at the somewhat advanced age of 12, but the friend I saw it with had rather strict parents, at least as far as movie selection went. I enjoyed it well enough but never got further into the franchise.

In FJ, I wonder if "seconds" in the category name was meant to subliminally evoke the Thanksgiving feast in the players' heads.
I'm smart and I want respect.
