Ike didn't exactly eat any lunches today, but he did have excellent advice for Patton that Patton didn't take. I enjoyed the tournament, and I especially enjoyed the chance to appear good at Jeopardy! in front of my 6-year-old daughter by getting every clue in the final game right.

Unless I'm mistaken, tonight's game was the first indication of what the finalist runner-up prizes were.

First mention I’ve seen of the non-winners’ prizes. If I ran Patton’s charity I would have been upset if he missed FJ and cost me $150,000.

I was familiar with two of the finalists prior to the tournament. The one who won was new to me. Davies said on the podcast he’d like to see the CJ champion in the TOC. Ike could probably do decent in a regular game but winning what is essentially Teen Week with adults doesn’t merit a TOC spot.

Instaget FJ.

I'll admit I thought of El Greco first. I knew there was some trivia about him having been born an Italian citizen.

No way I was missing DD2. Because I do not own a groundhog shirt I wore one with those animals instead.

Perfect category for James Holzhauer to read gambling clues.

Lots of clips before getting to the FJ! clue. It was a quite a set of 13 shows and fun to revisit some of the memorable moments and players.

I matched the gentlemen on the FJ! clue and put my pen down though did keep thinking just to make sure I was not overlooking someone. Easy or not, I'm very happy to have solved all of the celeb FJ! clues.

Ike in the ToC? Fine by me. Fine by ___. Fine by ___. Fine by____. I would laugh my tail off if it happened and Ike beat Luigi de (FJBoard) Guzman.

While Mayim's hosting style fits this primetime series fine, it will be very jarring when she returns to do regular play.

From the data I think we can conclude the winner Ike had a really superior buzzer ability. His Coryat blew the other players' away ($22,700 versus Patton's $12,700 and Wil's $11,500) even though he actually had fewer buzz attempts than the other players (71 versus Patton's 81 and Wil's 76).

The clue in Craps, about a pair of "2"s. I've never heard it called "ballerina". I can see where it comes from (tu-tu), but I started playing craps in 1977, and to this day, a hard four has always been "Little Joe". Which makes no sense compared to ballerina, but IIWII.

Anyone else? Ballerina, or Little Joe?

My craps experience is limited to once playing Society Max in Guys and Dolls, but this guide says 3-1 is a Little Joe from Kokomo.

Perusing other online glossaries indicates that a Little Joe is either 4 any way (2-2 or 1-3) or specifically the hard way. So clearly no agreement.

I saw that guide, I've never heard of half of those. And the same chart is repeated on several sites, which doesn't make it more accurate. They show 5-6 as "Yo", which is universally known (it was even in Ocean's Eleven, "easy-yo eleven". But they call 6-5 no jive. I've only been playing 46 years, but I've never heard that.

How do you tell, e.g., a 3-1 from a 1-3?

An interesting post on reddit:

I almost didn't record the remark in question in the Archive because it seemed banal. I should know by now that such remarks are more often than not just deep cuts that fly over my head.
