It would not be the last time that Steve was a little trigger happy.
Pacific not capitalized in DJ13.

No game # tags for Steve.

I bet one clue in soap operas would have come in handy to some people on here yesterday.

Fixed, thanks. I can't blame the OCR on an audio game.

Image linking seems broken on all J! Archive game boards today. Something going on with the site?

From a TuneIn recording here is: https://j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=7746

On intro Johnny said Sab-ben while Alex said Say-bin for Mike's surname. Mike's being a Mets fan is not much additional info as he and Alex wanted to discuss Strawberry going to the Dodgers and wondering how that would work out.

Mailey could be Maley or thereabouts for Beverly and Alex said she worked as a micro (some fancy microscope title) for the USDA for an additional possible hint.

Alex jinxed Mark for the ToC in closing.

I might be biased but I’d have put Saban. 😉

^ Hopefully, this means the 6/27/91 games which has only the intro will have its game filled after all these years. :D

Yes, 6/27/91 can be archived this month as archivists have at the minimum, TuneIn for the remainder of S7 games missing from June 27 to the end of the season.

For the upcoming week I'm planning to do S6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 video and 1 audio. The following week I'll work up the opposite direction.

Today I Learned...

"The Broadway Melody", the 1929 film which was the second to win the Best Picture Oscar, is not J-Canon. As far as I've been able to search, it hasn't appeared in a(n archived) clue in the Trebek era.

"Broadway Melody of 1938", one of its sequels, has been mentioned twice though.

My bad, it's fixed to get all three states named.

Thanks. The state you left out was one of the ones I guessed. Glad to know I got it right.

Ah, the classic FJ! puzzler about a year & century.

Terry, gifted a tie in her first game, left open the possibility to pay it forward, but no luck for Eileen.

J15: misspelled last name in the response
J24: "china" needs lowercase C
DJ21: Did Eileen really get away with only giving the first word of the correct response?

Clean up work done, thanks. Eileen only said the "S" word and Alex added the rest.

I thought it would be fun to put a low-scoring winner game in. Cue the sirens.

I'm not sure of the lyrics played for the audio DD, but I think I have some of them right.

Ah, a good old spelling category. Always fun to archive. H-I-P.

Judging on the results for the J! Archive search engine, only two other IRS employees (at least those who gave their profession as "IRS/revenue agent") are known to have been on the show, both after the second and third place prizes were turned into cash. And even though both of them lost their games, they still took home more cash than Marty, who apparently lost his next game since the following Monday had a different champion. He can still say he won a Jeopardy game, but dang.

Have any champions taken away less cash?

Here's Jimmie Bucci, who took away $100.
