DD1 was a coin flip for me. Does the famous abolitionist stop publishing when the war is over (1865) or when the Emancipation Proclamation is issued (1863)? Mrs. Penguin and I both went the wrong way with 1863. Luckily for Diandra, she guessed right and DOUBLED her money.
Not to be too pedantic (to coin a phrase!) but this actually matters...Remember that the Proclamation only covered the states in rebellion.
And, if you've seen the movie Lincoln, you know that the abolitionists aren't all happy and satisfied in 1865 with the Emancipation Proclamation in force but the Thirteenth Amendment not yet passed.

I was thinking it might be 1865 or it could be later like 66 or 67, as it took a fair bit of time to pass the three post-Civil War amendments, though the 13th was of course the first. It tuns out the 13th Amendment was ratified on December 9, 1865, and Garrison published his last issue on December 29. It seems less likely they would ask this question had the newspaper inched its way into 1866, however.

I learned to drive in my mother's 1986 Cutlass station wagon (technically, the "Cutlass Cruiser"), so as far as I'm concerned, it's a classic.
