Ken may have thought it a tough one, but I would still bet I'd have to outbuzz him from the 4th podium for the knife game. It's one of those trivia things I learned of many years ago.

Whether hints from J! staffers or just a different taping day, Deb is playing with a much happier demeanor than viewers saw in the QF round. Have fun and they are doing it.

Jesse was 2/4 on wagering clues with 2800 to the good and 11400 to the bad. More good was Jesse kept up on material & buzzer otherwise for a competitive 13200 Coryat.

The opportunities to bet tomorrow will likely be more important than the other 57 clues.

The FJ! clue had me unsure where to give credit. A quick check in the archive for the name with "boxing" turned up no hits. Perhaps an Uncle John? Somewhere/somehow I did not have to guess and knew who to write after I did the math to hit upon the event.

I wonder if Mira considered the right guy? She seemed to get to the event.

$2000 is no surprise. $1200 though? How extensive is your big nose Rolodex?

Didn't know the boxing thing, but between the two Wyatt Earp movies, I knew everyone* else was dead by the 1890s and Wyatt went on to have a career as a proto-Kardashian. (*Yeah, okay, Virgil also survived but there's a reason Kevin Costner didn't star in "Virgil Earp")
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.
Latest movies (1-10): WIthnail & I (7), An Autumn Afternoon (7), Europa Europa (7), Tampopo (9)

PUGILISM $800: In 1896 this former Tombstone lawman refereed a bout between Bob Fitzsimmons & Tom Sharkey in San Francisco

I remember thinking Judge Roy Bean at the time and switching for my response. Remembering that clue was essential for me today.

Pinocchio, Cyrano de Bergerac, Squidward Tentacles, and Mehmet Ozyurek(Guinness World Record holder.).

Given the clue, the dots failed to connect and pop culture stuff doesn't always stick in my mind.

Earlier tonight, my sister was sending me questions at the pub trivia she attended and I blanked on Bob Marley's "Exodus".

How many hereabouts have actually *met* Wyatt Earp? I personally wired him for sound at a Mensa gathering around ten years ago. (Okay, so it wasn't the guy at the OK Corral but a great-grandnephew or some such who makes appearances as his famous relative, but his name *is* Wyatt Earp.)

The date given clearly indicated Tombstone to me, and I'm pretty sure that by fifteen years later Holliday had succumbed to the tuberculosis he'd been fighting for so long.

Having visited Tombstone around 7 years ago definitely helped me with this one. FWIW if you ever take that tour, you should probably leave the kiddos behind - certain parts of it are not kid friendly, and there is no warning of this beforehand!

Connecting tangentially to FJ, add Kate [Olney] Holliday, Doc's common-law wife. At least if one credits her usual sobriquet.

if you want to see a champagne supernova many times you should see the British menu. (on Amazon prime at least in the US and BBC UK) they did a music themed season in which they did a banquet at Abey Road and A lot of the entries used champagne supernova ass inspiration for the dishes.

there were a few people I think on the top of my head that was the one that was not able to choose the burial side of his body due to people owning his company your name. because of that Wild Bill Hickok would be an interesting trivia answer. my teacher in high school had a period of time in which we studied western stories and the history that surrounds them. I also did some searching on the side for some of my my favourites like calamity Jane and Annie Oakley. I do not remember any of them doing a boxing match though.
