To answer a question that has come up in the Instant Replay thread: because the scoring is basically automated now, responses deemed to be "equivocating" will be scored as clams. Please make it clear in your response whether you are actually, you know, responding. If we have to guess, we're going to guess you're not responding.

I want to give you points, but I need to know for sure that you are claiming them.

6. This was the nickname of explorer John C. Frémont.

8. A member of the team with which Ken Griffey Jr, Alex Rodriguez, and Randy Johnson began their careers.

10. This publisher's Children's Book division gave us such classics as Make Way For Ducklings, The Twenty-one Balloons, and Pippi Longstocking.

3: The Isthmus of Perekop connects this peninsula, host of the Yalta conference during World War II, to the Ukranian mainland.

6: Chiapas and this other “spicy” Mexican state are on the eastern side of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec.

9: This was built across the isthmus separating Solway and Tyne Firths because the Roman army could not sustain its advance.

12: The isthmus connecting Peloponnesia to the Greek mainland is named for this port city ruled in mythology by Sisyphus.

15: The eastern shore of the Kra Isthmus on the Malay Penninsula is on this gulf named for the country in which the isthmus is located.
