2013 Summer Hiatus Challenge -- Round 3, Day 3

So, it's been quite the week here in the Fortress. A couple of inexplicably sloppy mistakes have created some RQ material. After nine years, you'd think I'd be better at this by now.

Anyway, here's what I'd like to know:

If you clammed yesterday's Presidential 8-pointer, please post in the Instant Replay thread and tell me why. I'd like a glimpse into your thought process so I can see where the clue went wrong. Thanks.

By the way, the RQ for Day 1 will go up tomorrow.

Here's today's set. I don't think there's anything weird going on, but there is some brilliant guest writing in the second category.
