“THIS” IS IT
2: According to Lady GaGa, “It doesn't matter if you love him or capital H-I-M, just put your paws up, 'cause you were” this.
4: This ABC Sunday morning talk show was called “Issues and Answers” until David Brinkley took over in 1981.
6: Carline, star, and milk are varieties of this flowering plants with sharp, prickly leaves – a Celtic symbol of nobility.
8: In Ovid's version of the story, this lover of Pyramus falls on the sword that killed him.
10: His rendition of “Chances Are” was played during an encounter with extraterrestrials in “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.”
GROVER CLEVELAND SERVED ANOTHER TERM
3: Among other missteps, the Supreme Court in 1893 declared a tomato to be a vegetable and, in this 1896 case, validated "separate but equal" public accommodations.
6: After delivering his "Cross of Gold" speech, this man was nominated by the Democrats to succeed Cleveland.
9: This economic measurement was first calculated by, and later named for, the editor of the Wall Street Journal on May 26, 1896.
12: Cleveland sent in the Army to break up a strike led by Eugene V. Debs against this railroad company.
15: In a much-criticized 1895 "compromise" later named for this city where it was struck, blacks led by Booker T. Washington agreed not to demand voting rights, and southern whites agreed to provide them free basic education and due process.
