2013 Summer Hiatus Challenge -- Round 6, Day 5
Had to work late, so here's today's set now. The Day 6 set will follow in a little while.
Because of the number of players involved in annual religious observances this weekend, Round 6 will remain open until Tuesday. If you are one of these players, I wish you well in your observance. If not, I wish you well too.
Off we go.

Re: 2013 Summer Hiatus Challenge -- Round 6, Day 5
LEGEND . . . WAIT FOR IT . . . DAIRY
(Bovine mythology. Cows, bulls, and the like.)
2: Known to the natives as Asterion, this creature that lived on Crete was eventually killed by Theseus.
4: This Phoenician noblewoman after whom a moon of Jupiter is named was carried away by the Cretan Bull.
6: This Greek – Greek I say – Greek – not Roman, Greek – everybody got that? We're looking for Greek – blacksmith deity gave King Aeetes the fire-br4eathing bronze bulls called the Khlakotauri.
8: This Egyptian bull deity worshiped as early as the Second Dynasty has the same name as a genus of bees.
10: This “auspicious” Hindu deity rode a bull named Nandi.
INORGANIC CHEMISTRY
3: The wet and dry types of these are distinguished by whether the electrolyte is a liquid or a paste.
6: Used in water purification, this compound – Al-2-(SO-4)-3 – is one of the most manufactured chemicals in the United States.
9: A compound containing this halogen, element 35, can be called by this linguistic term meaning a “trite saying.”
12: The distinct temperature and pressure at which a given substance exists simultaneously as a solid, liquid, and gas.
15: These mixtures (like sand in water) are distinct from solutions in that they are heterogeneous, and from colloids in that they will eventually settle.
