Actually, I believe they have Eddie Timanus type, right? Anyone know what they have him use?

Just got back from a holiday trip and am catching up ... The above expresses my thoughts, and my vote, quite precisely.Linear Gnome wrote: But...the omitted vowel is in the stressed syllable, so the pronunciation has to be changed. I wonder if the best solution would be to invite Shanna back at a later date. (Mike would have been third regardless.)
Hi Shanna,ShannaLaffs wrote:Hey everyone,
This is Shanna Lafferty from Wednesday's episode. Thank you everyone for watching and commenting. It's been a blast to read through everything. I've been reading the boards for a few years now, but this is the first time I've really had a reason to write.
I had a bit of a hard time in the beginning, as I'm sure you could tell. I wasn't quite getting the timing of the buzzer right and, more importantly, the categories were not really suited to my strengths. I wasn't too disheartened going into Double Jeopardy because I knew, as Alex pointed out, there was still a lot of time left to go. I was particularly happy when I noticed that I was the only one fishing for the daily doubles. When I got the first one, I was thrilled because I love history and I felt like it was a time period I knew really well. I probably would've bet high regardless because I needed to make up the difference, but it helped that I was feeling confident. On the second daily double, Alex called one minute left right as I got it. I was in the lead at that point so I was very cautious not to give it up, knowing we might only get to one or two more questions. Plus, education was not a strong subject for me, and it was the $2,000 question. It turned out to be incredibly easy considering I had just watched Miss America a week or so before (remember, we taped at the end of September). I tried to avoid that last $2,000 question like the plague, but I was not fast enough on the buzzer. Also, I'm assuming that John was ringing in whether he knew the answer right away or not. Good strategy and props to him for it.
Going into Final Jeopardy, being in second place and seeing the category I was hoping for a triple stumper, thus my wager. I knew that John would risk enough to win, as he should, and I was relatively confident Mike would risk a lot too. Government Programs, I felt, had a chance of being a tough question especially since I was thinking it might be about some New Deal/Alphabet Soup program which I hardly know anything about. As it turns out, my gamble didn't pay off, but I don't regret my move. So long as John got the answer right, I had no chance of overtaking him. I guess my only other option would've been to cover a correct answer from Mike, but in the end it didn't matter anyway. If I had been in the lead at the end of Double Jeopardy, I would've bid enough to win regardless of the category.
Despite the outcome, I had an amazing time in CA and subsequently watching the episode. If you are interested in being on the show, keep taking that test! I've been trying since I was a teenager. If anyone has any questions about my experience, please feel free to ask. I'm having a great time talking about it with all my friends and family and I'd love to share it with you too.
Yeah, I definitely will. I'm always looking for a reason to procrastinate when I should be studying for finals.Vermonter wrote: Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts! I really enjoyed watching you play, and I hope you'll stick around and contribute to the board.
It'll show up in the Archive soon enough, if it hasn't already.KenJenningsFan74 wrote:Could someone post the scores for this game, both before and after the Final Jeopardy! round? I wasn't able to see the game, so all I know is who won. Thanks.

I try to get my recaps up as soon as I see the game.KenJenningsFan74 wrote:Could someone post the scores for this game, both before and after the Final Jeopardy! round? I wasn't able to see the game, so all I know is who won. Thanks.
