Re: J! in the Media
Predictable number one slot. That show is so overrated. We lost interest somewhere in season 2 and never got back to it. Meanwhile, Fargo, which belongs in the top 5, doesn't even make the list.

It was there (in the 40s or 50s, I think).opusthepenguin wrote: ↑Sat Oct 01, 2022 9:56 amPredictable number one slot. That show is so overrated. We lost interest somewhere in season 2 and never got back to it. Meanwhile, Fargo, which belongs in the top 5, doesn't even make the list.
Halt and Catch Fire is also way too far down the list.

To be clear, nos.51-100 are here

My favorite part is that Schitt's Creek isn't on it.

Aha! I noticed that the link took me to number 50 and didn't pay attention to the title. So at number 84, Fargo is way way WAY too low but at least it's acknowledged.davey wrote: ↑Sat Oct 01, 2022 11:57 am To be clear, nos.51-100 are here

I agree, but it was the catalyst to the current era of prestige shows. No Sopranos: no Breaking Bad, no Mad Men, no Fargo, just Chuck Lorre vomit everywhere...opusthepenguin wrote: ↑Sat Oct 01, 2022 9:56 am Predictable number one slot. That show is so overrated. I was amused by Deadwood (27) Sesame Street (26). I now want that crossover SO BADLY NOW
But, you know, at least your Fargo was included. Where's Black Sails?

I think that's a bit too generous. There were dramas before and after The Sopranos that accomplished the same thing, with more or less success.Volante wrote: ↑Sat Oct 01, 2022 5:19 pmI agree, but it was the catalyst to the current era of prestige shows. I would have put The Wire at number 1. I would put Better Call Saul in the top 5. I'm not sure how Fleabag made the top 5, it was good but it only had 2 seasons and I didn't think it was that special.
I had a dream that I was asleep and then I woke up and Jeopardy! was on.

After doesn't count. And I don't think there's really any drama prior to Sopranos that matched the same impact. Look at the evolution of Emmy Drama nominees between the 90s and 2000s: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Primetime ... ama_SeriesMattKnowles wrote: ↑Sat Oct 01, 2022 5:49 pmI think that's a bit too generous. Can we really compare Hill Street Blues and Murder She Wrote to Sopranos and Six Feet Under?
Also, Fleabag was AMAZING. Best. Joke. Ever:
Favorite period movie?

Watching Jeopardy the Greatest of All Time was one of my favorites. Ken, Brad, and James are AWESOME champions and I'm so proud that Ken Jennings became the Greatest of All Time. He did great becoming a new host after the great Alex Trebek passed away

Spinal Tap’s Michael McKean was once asked why comedians seem to have an edge on Celebrity Jeopardy! His theory? Maybe it’s the button. “We're really hitting a rimshot, you know?” he theorized. “Maybe we treat everything that Alex says as though it's a punchline and then you go bum-bump. Maybe that's it.”

My usual method did not like the photo in portrait style and wanted to turn it landscape-like. As a video game music geek, I love that the transcription credits David Wise for his Nintendo version of the Think music.
