John's comment is still there and he also followed up with another one saying everything he posted is not sourced from Ken but from doing the research himself. And also this: "It’s like this modern disease of the mind that people automatically assume the worst thing, that they LEAP to the conclusion that because they read five tweets and two Buzzfeed articles that they are fit to sit in judgement of someone who is LIVING a full life in the thick of it."

Ken Jennings Returns to Host ‘Jeopardy!’ Season 40: Why That’s Not Considered Scabbing

There's not a lot of new info regarding the strike. However, the article does provide a summary of other news regarding season 40, including an increase in prize money for second- and third-place finishers.

Sajak may be retiring, but Vanna's not, at least not through 2026:

I mentioned Heat 2 in last year's Study Guide thread, but had no idea of her Jeopardy connection. Thanks!

I stopped reading in the third paragraph, in which he seems to believe this is the very first Second Chance tournament,

I can't get over this:
The show’s new executive producer, Michael Davies, who once gave up a lucrative ABC executive job to run a new game called “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” is among the most innovative leaders to ever work in the game show genre.
Aside from how I personally wouldn't describe him as "one of the most innovative leaders" (incompetent, maybe, but not innovative), Carter acts like Davies recently joined when he's been showrunner for three seasons now.

I also note that Carter forgets that the show changed its graphics each season when Harry Friedman was in charge.

This article in general is ill-informed writing.

Also, “shots of the crew holding up cue cards.” You know, it takes about 20 seconds to verify what’s actually in the new opening, and that is not one of the elements.

Makes me wonder if Carter even saw the show. This is a "Cowboy BeBop at his computer"* moment.

*It refers to a memetic screenshot from a book, which used a photo of Ed working on the Bebop's computer with a caption written by someone who clearly hadn't seen a single episode of that show and was taking a wild guess. I haven't seen the show either, for the record. I saw the pic on TV Tropes.
