How is 40 days after Easter a Thursday?
I'm assuming the clue was about the feast of the Ascension? It's the fortieth day of Eastertide, with Easter Sunday counting as day 1. In our modern way of reckoning time, that would make it the 39th day after. Older systems often used the word "after" (or their language's equivalent) while retaining both endpoints. E.g. Jesus rose on the third day after his Friday crucifixion. It's confusing to us when this custom is retained, but it didn't seem to bother the ancients.
And I won't get started on how many days are in Lent, since we don't count the Sundays.

Note to self: Although there are 8 main Hawaiian islands, one of those in uninhabited, Kaho'olawe.
i was impressed that he seemed to know the number without hesitation.
Ryan had already won 3 in a row so I thought no way was he winning again since the show can mix and match episodes for variety. Muffy just snuck in the last two answers to steal the game.
The showdown was hilarious with the contestant and Muffy each not only going 0/4 but having the same wrong answer as well. 2/4 for me guessing the mountain country and the sequence animals.
For the tiebreaker Q asking which state entered the Union when Teddy Roosevelt was president I joined Muffy (was asked afterwards if she knew it) to be OK while the 0/5 for the player was a certainty. Hawaii?

I was only 1/4 (country), but that was good enough for the win. I missed the Ultimate (but if it's ultimate, how do they keep having them?).
Also, I had to laugh about the name "Shamey". That was the portmanteau name that the Big Bang Theory gang gave to Sheldon and Amy (Mayim, so J! reference) when they first started dating.

Hey Ryan, what happened on Wednesday’s episode?
There were only six questions in Round 1 and they skipped the Authors question.
yeah, i noticed that... but i have no recollection of what the deleted question was. it must have been a double triple-stumper for the scores not to have changed. i am sorry i do not recall the details!

I thought that myself, however many questions that were shown have gone 0/6. It's possible the question may have been discarded before production.

One of the contestants today was named Brian, and they mentioned he had been a competitive figure skater... I searched for pics, it was indeed Brian Boitano.

Please tell me you're not making this up. It's nowhere else on the internet, and I don't have my new dvr set up yet to confirm.

Brian Boitano is 59 and I cannot see the Master Minds contestant being that old. While there may be a general resemblance between the two guys I think Boitano has a more (not sure how to phrase this) personable face. It's not that the trivia Brian was a sour puss, but skater Brian lights up the screen more.
anyways, watch me, a student who scored a 22 on the last jeoparday test, try to somehow beat a jeopardy alumnus on monday
I've also been behind on watch episodes this season, but I think in the breakroom it was mentioned that Dave on 8/25's show somehow has been on 13 or 14 different game shows, and one of them was Jeopardy! in the 90s? I didn't really have time to ask him because that episode taped first that day.
Well, I forgot how far back Boitano's prime was, but this Brian sure looked a whole lot like him to me, and the photos I found on the internet that I thought confirmed it seemed to be dated recently, but lies happen on the 'net all the time.
I believe Boitano lives in the Palo Alto area now, and he certainly was a competitive figure skater...
Pretty amazing that someone with the same first name that looks quite a bit like him (well, with a hairpiece to match what he had then and some makeup) lives in the same area, etc. But okay, I guess...
