Entire global population of 7.6 billion.

Obviously way outdated as now there are over 8 billion.

you are welcome and I appreciate the kind words. I may not comment after each game, but I do watch all of the episodes and enjoy the show. especially when I know the right chinese leader to guess. it's fun to track and post the stats and if you (and any other master minds) like checking where you stand all the better.

I'd like to Bungle a question ... is there a studio audience? They never show them, and sometimes it sounds like the applause is canned. And do the other two contestants really go away empty-handed?

there were full audiences pre-covid. due to covid restrictions, however, the recent audiences have consisted of the day's contestant group plus people working on and affiliated with the show.

I was on the show immediately pre-covid, and I can confirm that 2nd and 3rd place go home with nothing (not even a lousy copy of the home game or other swag). No hotel or mileage allowances either. Being on the show cost me about $250 (for a hotel room and gas). I live near Los Angeles, but we had a 6:30am call time, so I wanted to be as near to the studio as possible. I'd still do it all again, but it wasn't cheap.

Interesting... I was supposed to be a contestant in February 2020 (until I found out three days beforehand that someone I knew was a researcher on the show), and my call time was more reasonable, more like 8:30 or 9:00. Maybe someone was going to have to leave early the day you taped.

How many episodes do they film each day?

And do you at least get a nice picture with the host and/or MasterMind(s) like the one you have with Pat?

According to GSN.com, they film 7 episodes a day.

They filmed a lot when I was on, but the contestants were totally sequestered before and after our games (we couldn't watch the tapings of the shows before ours, and we were escorted out afterward), so I'm good with LucarioSnooperVixey's response above.

No promo photos at all, either for marketing or for us. I was on with Ken, Muffy and Jonathan, and would have loved a photo with them.

Interestingly enough, I didn't get a stand-alone promo photo with Pat on Wheel either - back in 2000, they weren't doing that, I guess. This is just a screenshot from the moment I realized I won $5,200. Contestants who were from outside the Los Angeles area filmed separate promos for their local markets ("I'm so and so from Tulsa, watch me tonight on Channel 8!"). The couple of us from the LA area didn't do those.

I think we were originally told a later time, too, but I got an email a few days before my taping letting me know that it was 6:30am, we had to be on time. Of course, we were all at the studio on time, and we really didn't do anything until almost 8 am anyway...
