Player pics of Michael Shutterly, Cindy LaRue & George Wallace: Spoiler
Nice to see Michael Shutterly's first game.
Was baffled by Odors $300 and then discovered there are no fewer than four odor classification systems/theories, with ethereal being in three of them. While I'm far from Jeopardy contestant material, I have to admit that I thought of pungent before a word that can also mean light and airy in other contexts.
"Everything ends. Life goes on. I'll be gone. So will you. So hug people tightly. Take joy in their heartbeats and drink something cold and go play in the shade. That is all." -Bob Harris, Prisoner of Trebekistan
- I post whatever (but mostly mushrooms and nature stuff) on Bluesky.

Semi-related, the weird spacing in J8 in game_id=7624 is present in the original, in case I forget to mention it when it's time to do the recap.
Should I add a note to fend off potential error submitters?
(Also note the rare example of the curly single quote.)
The curly single quote is lamentably common on today's internet (and in much text in print and on television that was produced on a computer), because the "smart punctuation" setting assumes all apostrophes at the start of words are actually open-quotes.

Here are Bill Schilling's games from October 1994:
OADs: 10/11, 10/12 and 10/13/1994, Mr. Barrett and Mr. Saunders you need to add those games in the archive before they get taken down
Working on the first game now and two comments:
1. I'll never get used to chats at the end of the J! round.
2. The chats seemed more like Alex as Mike Wallace on 60 Minutes than game show banter.
Was Bobbie a returning champion? I went into the season 11 index to see if I could figure out what 5x champ was retired in the previous game, only to see a new champ crowned in the game before that.
Edit: In googling Bobbie's name, I found this page that seems to indicate she didn't win with Alex, but says she won three games and $1,720 with Art Fleming in 1974 (and has pictures of this!), and $10,000 and a "London Show Tour" on the evening version of J! in 1975.

The previous game was Tom Nichols game 5-B.
