Steve Ricker, Jane Remus, Richard Beaton

J5 made me laugh as I had four Lemonheads in my mouth when archiving it.
The 4/28/93 intro has Steve's one day total as $0 for some reason.

Once 4/27 was added I added that games number link to the 4/28 game. I guess I still have to manually enter the returning total. On it, thanks.

We welcome Abby Dalton to the J-Canon, as a clue.

Decent game and I needed my second instinct to solve the FJ! clue after going away from Bethesda.

I needed my second instinct to not stay with the thing I incorrectly guessed back when I was on the show, and instead pivot to what I remembered was the correct response.

Al Sanders, Mary Ann Fusco, David Tiemann

Mary Ann was the 2nd for originally from Caracas, Venezuela.

Al for the 1993 SCC as he had a lock after the DJ! round that disappeared after he got a delayed bust on DJ26.

David got just enough help to aid him winning his second game on the way to the ToC.

Andy: What's the tally for coming across DJ28 this week?

For me, it gets a little dizzying with new J!, old J!, UK J!, and Celebrity J! Add in Split Second and overlaps are common.

It showed up on this week's episode of the BBC radio music quiz Counterpoint too.

So similar to S35 1x champ J Cheema, champion "H" only went by his first initial during his run? And that was how Johnny introduced him too?

Johnny said H., H. signed in as H. and Alex said H. at chat. In game 1. This afternoon my plan is to archive H. as defending champ.

He was exclusively called H. by Johnny and Alex. As I recall, in his third game (could have been the second) Alex asked him in the interviews what it stood for, and he said Hargurchet. My 9-year-old ears heard it as "hog-a-check," but luckily he made enough of a name for himself outside J! that as an adult I was able to find what his name was when I recalled him. (His episodes aired during my Easter break that year, and I was visiting my uncle's family in Encinitas. My dad was at home—he probably had to work that week—and I called him to tell him H.'s name.)

Alex's 52-year-old ears, too, as that's how Alex pronounced the name when repeating it. It was the third game, #1992. Actually, Alex says it thrice, a bit different each time.

Denise Bodey, Bob Daugherty, H. Bhabra

I think I hear the newspaper boy, "Negs, negs, extra, extra, read all about it".

At least H. had a name easy to type over and over.

Learning who was monarch 1760-1820 has come in handy many times over the years.

With thanks to legwork by Christopher Denault, we have two name corrections:

Craig Ryan
This turns out to be Craig Rhyne, pronounced like the river.

And in this one:

Lary Olsen turns out to be Lary Ohlson, who has an IMDb listing and is a relative of a S35 player.

David Tiemann says thank you to H. for missing the FJ! clue.

There were many ways for David Z. to have led for the FJ! round and I wonder if H. would have made the same wager from 2nd?

Glenn Styles, Lynn Beckmann, Abraham Aig

Glenn for the 1993 SCC as that sucks to play mostly well and lose on one of those find the right state in 30 seconds. Ten seconds for me to hit the aha moment.

Archivists: I could not figure out Glenn's Maine city when hearing something like "A-dull-iff".

Two Ns on Beckmann and hard to know exactly what Glenn wrote to complete his incorrect state.

Google strikes out. ChatGPT strikes out. Combing the Wikipedia articles for current and former place-names in Maine also strikes out. In the interview Alex says he took the test in Portland, so he's "WMTW land".

To my ears it could also be "Adolluth" or "Adonath" or "Adonlath" or homophones. It might also begin with an "M" that elides with the previous word "from".

There are a surprising number of towns unincorporated in Maine since the airdate in question, but none of them is a match.

TIL there is a Mexico, Maine.

EDIT: Reddit came through with "Medomak".

A public records search for Glenn Styles living in Maine has him in Nobleboro, Medomak, and Bremen during the course of the '90s. From the speculation here, it seems like Medomak is the likeliest fit.
