Continuing from TuneIn, we have 1991-04-12: https://j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=7967
Was certainly an exciting game.
DJ20 saw a judge's reversal.

And more TuneIn, 1991-06-06: https://j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=7968
Max had the judges working overtime.
This is the last one of the TuneIn backlog from before we got the games from NAGSH. Thus, I'll be moving to the NAGSH backlog for awhile.

Pictures of Ron Mulligan, Robert Miltenberg, and Les Miller:

Alex was not particularly impressed with our three players this game.
J4 saw a rare use of underlining on the Chyron.
Lots of incorrect responses saw Alex call for the break at Clue 6.
Lots of changing of responses before (or after) rulings made Alex not happy as well.
J20 & DJ13 were a little bit of fun from the writing team.

Yes—being that the category was about Russian words, I think it makes sense as well.MinnesotaMyron wrote: ↑Mon May 22, 2023 12:33 pmWas DJ category 2 really RUSSIAN, and not RUSSIA or RUSSIANS?OntarioQuizzer wrote: ↑Mon May 22, 2023 9:59 am Continuing from TuneIn, we have 1991-04-12: https://j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=7967

Pictures of Holly Hoke, Bill Christopher, and Les Miller:

Alex very clearly enunciated "Hoke" during the interview.
Felt like your run-of-the-mill, average S1 game.
The video cut out a bit at times for DJ2, DJ3 & DJ4 but we were able to get enough.

Courtesy the National Archives of Game Show History, we have 1985-01-30, Paul Croshier, game 1-B: https://j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=7974
Pictures of Sue Foster, Paul Croshier, and Holly Hoke:

Paul got to ADMIRALS in DJ and really didn't look back from there. A close game got blown wide open and Holly & Sue spent the rest of DJ playing catch-up.
Props to anyone able to get this FJ in 2023—would have been much easier in 1985.

Jonathan Oren vs. Anne Sommers vs. Chuck Wessel
Brutal game to archive with audio only and generated transcript can only help so much. The numbers are okay, but there is still some clue wording off that I will work on sometime bedtime tonight to try to fix.

Tolkien and Lewis not nearly so much in the public consciousness then as today after big-budget Hollywood adaptations. Justly valued at $1000.MinnesotaMyron wrote: ↑Tue May 23, 2023 7:12 pm That is quite the triple stumper at UNREAL ESTATE for $1000.

Burt's and his son Jason's Archive profiles have been edited to link to each other.
DJ16: Would be old hat for us in 2023, but it seems like this clue might well have been the turning point towards "you corrected yourself before we ruled against you" rule—you could even hear the judges offstage faintly.

Other than just happening to know it, was there some way to get the bottom clue in celebrity trivia? James isn’t that poet’s first name so that doesn’t help.MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 6:20 pm Courtesy of the National Archives of Game Show History I added 12/19/85: https://j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=7982
