From playing the J!6 game I see that one of the categories today is "West Virginia and Regular Virginia". Just how far in advance are these categories created?

The game has me laughing before I see it. When getting the categories ahead of time on J!6 it was hilarious to see today's game will have:

WEST VIRGINIA & REGULAR VIRGINIA

"Regular Virginia" was aired March 2nd and taped Jan. 11th while today's game was taped May 17th, leaving plenty of room for the writers to make the category.

Brianne opened with a run of YOU CALL YOURSELF A FAN? and made it worth a little extra with Katrina's neg in the mix. By the end of the game Katrina had turned the tables to have the lead for the FJ! round.

The FJ! clue had me match the challengers as the dots seemed to be connecting right there.

Not too many countries to begin with to eliminate two.

Nobody should be surprised that while all three contestants found a DD, nobody had an inkling what to do with it.

Katrina doesn’t like a category in which she’s answered three of four clues correctly? Wow. And then wagers $1995 more than she has to? Double wow.

Brianne had a very narrow window for the optimal wager, ($801-$999) I would have bet every piece of golf equipment I own that she wasn’t going to find it.

I’m ready for the break, between the clue writing and more pop culture categories this season in addition to the never ending lack of game play it’s been frustrating. Here’s hoping the clue writing returns to former glory next season. The game play……. yeah right.

Coryat: $33,600
45 R/3 W
DD: 3/3
FJ: :(
LT: regime, Luddites (DD), Acura, "Brandy"

I didn't figure out the conceit of the What's the Name category until I had lost a coin flip between "Alejandro" and "Bad Romance" for the Lady Gaga entry. Boo.

Good start for the new champ with a $20,000+ Coryat.
Sprinkles are for winners.

I remember MarkBarrett saying that there wouldn’t be another champion named Katrina in the time of Alex hosting when there was a 2-day champ of that name several years back, but there was one after!

Yep. Eyeballing it I knew it would be close and figured Brianne might have to make a tough choice (pretending she knew what her choices were). Then I did the calculations and realized she had that beautiful little window and didn't have to choose. But like you, I would have bet every piece of golf equipment you own plus 5 bucks of my own money that she was going to drastically overwager or tragically underwager. Fortunately for her, it didn't make a difference. And she'd already exceeded her expectations by coming back to play a second game. So the whole experience worked out very well for her.

who would have known that it was a not-so-tough one at the bottom of the category?

The incorrect response of Portugal to that FJ makes me think of the old comedy trope of someone wedging a chair under a doorknob (or otherwise barricading a door), only for the door to open away from the blockage.

Andorra was instaget.

Barry Manilow's first hit was originally called Brandy but given the Looking Glass hit from only 2 years earlier, they changed it to Mandy; were the British songwriters who wrote it ever furious. (Presumably they calmed down when they saw the cheque.)
I'd rather cuddle then have sex. If you're into grammar, you'll understand.
