Spoiler
Travis Lee would like to come back for a couples tourney as his wife is a good player. Buzzy is not eligible but his wife Elisha is good at recognizing celebrities and at pop culture while Buzzy's strength is more with academic clues.
Sarah loved nailing the clues in the DISNEY ENDINGS category and had considered going to Disneyland to ride Splash Mountain one last time before its closing.
Nathan had tried out 3 times for J! unlike Buzzy who only had to try out once to get on.
The hosts could understand Ilhana betting $0 on SPORTS & THE MOVIES since the category can let a contestant know if that is not a good area for someone.
That led into Buzzy and Sarah wishing players would bet more on Daily Doubles since they have the information of previous clues in the category.
Brad Rutter was noted for saying advice for contestants on stage is, "Don't be a blind guesser" off the FJ! category. It's better to keep you mind blank going into the clue instead of thinking ahead what the clue might be about.
Sarah got to see an early performance of Bad Cinderella as part of working on the Andrew Lloyd Webber category. With the show closing it will be the first time in 43 years with no Webber show on Broadway.
When the category came out it was already known that the Webber show would be closing for unfortunate timing.
Ad for Buzzy J! podcast 17:00-17:40.
Jared called himself a Dorkapotamus at post chat after the June 2 game and Sarah then wrote that in for Mayim's 6/5 opening.
Some of the staff is in the studio at the judges table with it being writers and researchers and other staff is in the library during taping with access to many sources.
A stop can can be asked for to halt taping to research something and the staff tries to time it for ad breaks and before a DD plays.
The host has a script that includes DNA for do not accept and ACC for other acceptable responses.
Buzzy recalls a starts & ends with H category and he said ham sandwich. Alex ruled him wrong when the host wanted hero sandwich and Buzzy protested. The decision was reversed and it turned out that Alex had overlooked or forgotten that ham sandwich was marked as acceptable.
Sometimes a contestant will protest another contestant's response and a contestant coordinator will relay that to the judges to check into.
When there is doubt about what a contestant said the show staffers will listen again. Sometimes a contestant can't believe their own wrong response, but a replay will show the wrong thing was indeed said.
Libby asks if there is an advantage to ringing in first. Somehow Libby thought the person who rings in first has some kind of edge going into the next clue. Not mechanically, but having control to know where the next clue is going can help a player.
During breaks the players can be given advice about ringing in too early or too late. During game play it can be hard for a player to know where their timing is off.
