I've been complaining about this to Mrs. Alietr lately. I hate that they're doing it. At least there's an explanation. But if Michele is new, why were other board operators having no difficulty doing so?

The boards are being cleared in S40 for the main concern. Full category calling helps not only Michele Hampton select the right clue being played but there is a segment of viewers that have trouble keeping up with the board jumping.

The writers sometimes have long category names and to me it sounds ridiculous having the mouthful spouted each time a clue is called. When it gets to Masters I wonder what effect full category name calling will have on the players if it's still implemented?

To me, I think the J! powers are listening to some squeaky wheels that don't necessarily merit the grease.

Michele is far from new as far as I know and I don't think the change is anything specific to accommodate her. I was just citing the small amount of justification Sarah gave in the podcast. I think it's more going along with the clue selection indication experiment on Celebrity J! to try things out to help viewers and staff keep up where the next clue is during a round.

If I'm on stage playing for big bucks I'm certainly not going to worry about helping game board operator Michele. If I've got momentum I'm calling a category absolutely as fast as possible and not giving my opponents a chance to breathe. It's not like TPTB are going to stop tape and chastise a contestant for not doing so.

This was basically my comment but in longer form and with an anecdote! :)

A lot of people commented on my speech during my run, including Corina who told me twice to slow down and enunciate, and Ken once about my pace of play, albeit after a game. I can't always help the talking fast part, but coupling that with shortening category titles on stage allowed me to push the pace of the game faster than most contestants choose to/are able to play, which already shifts part of the game in my favor because my opponents are trying to catch up to my maneuvering around the board. The absolute last thing on my mind on stage is the home audience, just like any other athlete when they play their sport.

All this to say, this podcast has said in the past, effectively, "we don't want to tell players how to act and play the game", and I feel that this new statement comes at odds with the previous stance. I have no problem with tinkering shot sequences or something like that in post - I didn't mind from the 5 minutes of Celeb J! that I saw - but not at the expense of how people play the game on stage.

I can understand having them say the entire name the first time it’s called but it just slows things down to do it every time. Especially when they have categories with especially wordy titles they like to use just to be funny or punny. In the first round Monday there was no reason to say anything other than:

Thyme
Aquinas
3rd graders
Texas
Body shots (Full name. Happy, Michele?)
Heavyweight champs

If there is only one category left there is no reason at all to say anything other than the dollar amount. If not hearing the name confuses my opponent for a second or two, tough.

Oct. 16, 2023 - "Who is Buzzy Cohen?' (58:23)

Sarah & Buzzy host and there will be another Deathly Double costume contest with prize of picture of Ken Jennings signed by Buzzy Cohen. Talk of Ken & Buzzy dressing like rival Kens from Barbie and Michael Cera & Simu from movie are friends of J!

Whenever this podcast was taped there was a 4 episode taping of Celebrity J! the day prior.

4:30 moment in J! history from 10/15/21 and Jonathan Fisher winning 5th game. He has the highest winnings of a giant killer.

7:20 the 10/9 week of games:
Spoiler
Camron lost to Mattea first time around. A lot of people wanted Lucy back because of how well she did first time around.

Robert's LEGO tie got a mention and he could be up for Best Dressed at J! Honors which will have more categories next time.

Morgan's shimmy is fondly remembered going back to Katie Couric guest-hosting.

Sam's big DD bet forced Robert to bet big on his DD.

Josh lost to Matt Amodio to end Josh's run and fans wanted Josh back.

SPOOKY LIT was taped in April so before the strike. Justin Long's intro was taken out since he can't promote Goosebumps right now and Ken introduced it instead.

16:55 Chat after 10/12 game was played. Josh thought Steve had the game won and Josh got nausea while feeling nautious.

18:55: CWC Semi #1 post game chat played. Tape stop down to try to find any source to accept Lawrence's King Rainier and nothing to support it so had to be ruled wrong. Lawrence hears that just Rainier would have been acceptable. Lawrence knew Rainier immediately and knew connection with Grimaldi family.

Buzzy remembers his erring with Thoreau work as "On Walden Pond".
21:00 - Celebrity Jeopardy!
Spoiler
Christopher Meloni played previously in 2006 at Radio City Music Hall.

Katie was goon on buzzer and is a J! fan who watches with her fiancee. Katie is fan of Sam Buttrey and wanted to say, "Bring it". Ken set her up to do it even though Sherri had control for last clue of a round.

Andrew He fan of Katie and saw taping of her podcast "Garbage Time."
23:55 Camron from CWC asks Ken if he still does caricatures? Not so much since J! staff meetings are not boring unlike prior job meetings. Camron has been watching Ken games on Pluto.

25:00 Sarah talks to Buzzy
Spoiler
Buzzy's lunch on J! lot is salad with romaine, veggies, chicken, garbanzo beans, no cheese with vinaigrette. When Buzzy knew he was not playing in the afternoon he would have Chicken with vegetables and rice. Buzzy's drink would be green tea if playing or water if not playing. Either way he did not have a treat to conclude the meal.

Buzzy has been lifelong fan of J! but did not try out for Teen or College as he wanted to get on regular J! Buzzy got a job after college in 2006 so did not try out for J! then.

Buzzy and his wife host an Oscar party and they are cord cutters. One year the ABC online app got overloaded and crashed so Buzzy rushed out to Target to get a digital antenna. That allowed him to still watch J!

Buzzy took the test at a time when it was only available online once a year. He got an audition at the Doubletree in L.A. and had a cold necessitating him being on medicine at the time. Buzzy wore a 3-piece suit to stand out. Buzzy got the call to be an alternate as a local.

A month later he got the call to play as contestant. Andrew Pau won six games and Buzzy told Sandy the makeup woman, "Somebody's gotta beat him; might as well be me."

Buzzy was 3/3 on DDs and won all five games that first taping day. On the next day Buzzy recognized the rehearsal clues, including placement of DDs, from his time in studio as an alternate and he was able to intimidate that day's contestant pool.

After winning his first game Buzzy said, "I am a Jeopardy! champ; I am done." Maggie Speak told Buzzy to go win more.

The Teachers Tourney and Power Players tournament aired in the middle of Buzzy's run, but taping-wise it was consecutive days for Buzzy and he had trouble sleeping overnight.

As part of Buzzy's fashion prep his dad (3rd generation clothing store owner) made three suits for Buzzy that took 6-8 weeks, so perfect timing from getting call as alternate to actually playing. Buzzy did repeat outfits on Day 1 and Day 5.

On Day 1 Buzzy discovered his underwear was worn inside out so he did it again on Day 2's taping.

Ad from 34:10 -31:10 on Spotify.

During Buzzy's run he started doing things on the intro that could be gifs. Buzzy was once recognized in traffic as games were airing and motorist imitated one of the intros.

Alex was fine with Buzzy's antics and it gave him a chance to play off them. Some in the public viewing audience did not like Buzzy, but a line from Reggie Jackson was cited, "People don't talk about nobodies."

Austin Rodgers was mentioned for being way Zanier than Buzzy.

It was a letdown for Buzzy after winning 9 games, but the ToC was on the horizon. Buzzy watched as others qualified and Buzzy got to be on E! and GMA.

Before regular J! Buzzy watched with a click pen. Before ToC Buzzy got Fritz Holznagel's buzzer device and did J! prep at the gym. Buzzy watched the movie Creed a lot and would go through Trivial Pursuit cards on plane flights.

Buzzy finished with $0 after F1 in the ToC and kept the card showing the day one scores as a souvenir. Buzzy thought F2 in ToC was his last game but then came All-Stars.

Buzzy was a captain and at the time of the live draft on Facebook his wife was due with their second child. Buzzy had worked with Louis Virtel on auto draft picks if Buzzy had had to be at the hospital instead.

Each All-Star team was assigned a producer and it was Sarah with Buzzy's team of Alex Jacob and Jennifer Giles. Alex helped Buzzy use flashcards and the team met in Denver over a weekend to prep and go through 51 games. They talked about game scenarios and switched roles.

Buzzy had to fill out some paperwork of All-Stars and was invited to come to the studio to see a taping. It turned out to be James winning six figures.

When Buzzy did runthroughs before hosting ToC Sarah told him, "You're coachable." It was boot camp for Buzzy meeting 2 times a week to get ready.
51:30 Question from Patrick about one clue Buzzy missed he wished he got right. It was Emma Goldman from All-Stars that cost his team a place in the finals.

Alex asks about Buzzy being a music executive - Buzzy runs a company that does music for commercials including Airbnb.

Stephen/Steven asks if Buzzy got advice from Ken about being a Chaser on The Chase. Ken busy with hosting things so Buzzy talked more to vets James & Brad about it although Ken was encouraging about it.

Sarah asks about best memory and it was getting in on first clue and Buzzy recalls that it was Chicken Run. Winning the ToC and then getting to be host are great memories as well.

Next week: The 10/16 week of CWC including chat with the Spades winner.

At the end it was mentioned there will be questions from fans again at some point.

10/23/23 "Who is
Spoiler
Josh Saak
?" (45:35)

Sarah & Buzzy again talk about the costume contest and still time to get entries. When they taped the podcasting they were finishing up Clubs CWC with Hearts next while for J! air time it's Diamonds beginning.

3:35 This Week in Jeopardy! History is from 10/26/92 when first game of Celebrity J! aired with Regis, Donna Mills and Carol Burnett. Alex's opening is played.

6:45 the 10/16 week of games:
Spoiler
Josh got props for running the YOU DO THE MATH category.

Sarah mentioned the deliberation over the Tenochtitlan ruling.

Lucy had a runaway in both the QF and SF round.

Buzzy agrees with betting big on the Finals Day One FJ! clue like Josh did. Sam and Lucy played well but Josh had a 2-day runaway going into the last FJ! Round to allow for the Cliff Clavin and Regan responses. Josh had the "Eye of the Tiger" for the finals.

11:35 - 12:15 Ken chats with Josh after F2 and the money is secondary to getting to play with a studio audience unlike 2021 when Josh was first on.
12:32 Buzzy and Sarah sing a line from "Diamonds Are Forever" in discussing the beginning of the Diamond CWC game on Friday. Kristin and Dave played with Alex as host while William played with Ken hosting.
Spoiler
Kristin lost her fourth game on 10/20/20 and her CWC game on 10/20/23. Dave had a good buzzer % and is one to watch going forward in Diamonds.
14:15 The Oct. 18 ep. of Celeb J!
Spoiler
Steven was on the third ep. of Celeb. J! in 1992 and lost playing against Cheech. Steven was good with the RESPOND LIKE A PIRATE.
16:30 Host chat question is how does Ken pronounce difficult words? Ken jokes that he is very bright. Alex used to show up to work at 6 a.m. to go over the material ahead of the staff meeting.

Ken reviews the material at night and does not get up as early. Staff researchers mark pronunciations and Ken will do his own research. At a staff meeting each tape day they go over every clue and decide where the DDs will go.

The writing and production clue is very helpful for Ken to say things the right way and like Alex, Ken puts in the work.

When Sarah was on the Crew Crew she could call Billy Wisse at any time about help with reading clues. Some words were broken down phonetically.

19:20-41:38 chat with CWC winner:
Spoiler
Josh Saak who was on J! the first time in July 2021. Winning one game was the cherry on top for just being a contestant on the show and Josh had no expectations of winning three games.

Josh trailed Matt Amodio by just $400 in Josh's game when he lost. Josh said Matt is a nice guy and he knew he'd be tough competition.

Josh first played with George S. as host who demonstrated his news chops at running the game. Josh then played with the "fantastic" Robin Roberts hosting and she had a friendly aura. She asked Josh if he was going to be her good luck charm and then he lost, having no idea Matt would go on to win so many games.

Josh tried to get on around 2010-11 and made it to an in-person audition without getting the call. He tried again 4-5 times and late 2020 with the Zoom audition did the trick to finally get on the show.

Josh never expected to come back to J! as he knew the chances were very slim with his 3x streak of qualifying for the ToC and never expecting the SCC or later CWC to include him in the mix as a S37 player.

When the call came for the CWC Josh had not heard about the CWC and thought it was a half joke. Josh only had a couple of weeks to prepare the used the J-Archive, mock games, prior FJ! clues, quizzes and current events.

Josh is part of a workout group at 6:00 a.m. and they did J! boards with a penalty of pull-ups, push-ups etc. for missing answers.

Sarah mentioned J! fans wanted Josh to return. Josh in 2021 had to experience J! with COVID precautions while in 2023 he got the full J! experience. All of the CWC players are in a group text.

The players that Josh knew would do well were Lawrence, Sam and Lucy.

Steve outplayed Josh in the QF game and Josh was shocked Steve missed the nausea clue.

Buzzy again mentioned the Brad Rutter tip to keep mind open for FJ! round and not play "blind guess" off the category. The 30 seconds goes fast and it's a dangerous game to blind guess on stage. Save it for the couch.

In the semis Kendra and Dane played Josh tough and in the finals Josh tried to anticipate the lights a bit for buzzer timing. For the four games Josh's buzzing % was 44%, 53%, 55% and 51%.

Josh went for the big bet in Finals 1 knowing that anyone can win in Finals 2. Josh's F1 bet was to be tied with Sam if he doubled up. LANDMARKS was a good category for Josh.

Josh was 1/12 finding DDs in the CWC and had planned to bet aggressively on them. The one Josh did get right forced Sam to bet more on the one he missed.

Going into the ToC Josh is like a 7xer? It has not sunk in yet and Josh did name Cris, Ray and Ben C. for players he is aware of in the field.

Josh had the support of CWC Spades going into the ToC having made new friends.

Buzzy joked about Sarah could have named the groups after tarot cards instead of the traditional playing cards suits.

Josh's lunch order of Nepalese curry to chef salad to poke bowl had Sarah questioning some of the choices as they may not be the best digestive choices.

Josh's proud stat is 0W in the QF game. His family, friends, co-workers are all thrilled for him with J! success. The best part for Josh has been his fellow contestants.
Next week the 10/23 Diamonds, 10/25 Celebrity J! (Mira Sorvino, Adam Rodriguez, Peter Schrager)

Yes, Cheech is legitimately good, but:

Anderson Cooper knows what game-show shame feels like. “You know what it's like to walk into the newsroom at CNN after you've lost [at Jeopardy] to Cheech Marin?” laments Cooper. “It doesn't go well.”

10/30/23 "Who is Lucy Ricketts?" (59:25)

Sarah & Buzzy host. They can't post pics of their Halloween costumes because of SAG strike restrictions. Sarah's daughter will be Legolas (from LoTR)) and Jasmine from Aladdin after changing from Katy Perry in "Roar" video.

Sarah's family doing Wizard of Oz theme and Sarah will volunteer at daughter's school on Halloween.

7:15 This week in J! history is 10/30/2000 when Brad Rutter won his first game. He has $4,938,436 in total winnings and while not confirmed it sure sounds like he will be in the JIT.

Buzzy has found Brad to be warm and welcoming in interacting with him at pub trivia and The Chase.

11:35 the 10/23 week of games:
Spoiler
Sarah was happy to have Isaac back after he was not able to compete in the 2022 SCC and wonderful to hear of Isaac's mom recovery from cancer.

Buzzy can't figure out Leah's $5,000 FJ! wager.

Jilana first tried for J! Kids Week and may have had an advantage having gone through SCC.

John went from mohawk to halfhawk while two other guys in Diamonds have mohawks.

The complete COUNTRIES THAT BORDER INDIA category was played and in postgame chat Ken joked about players being given answers in dark alley the night before but in the wrong order.

Ken was given a sign from audience member(s) that said "You are Ken-ough" and it now hangs in his dressing room.

Buzzy joked about calling contestants from audience with "Come on Down" and Sarah was quickly dismissive of Buzzy trying to copy TPiR.

Sarah and Buzzy both ran DISNEY PARK SONGS.

Emily had 49 buzz attempts in dominating her game and Emily wanted to exercise buzzer discipline.

Yoshie's chat about playing in Alex's last game was touching and Buzzy felt for Mason's tough loss.

Brian played three years ago on 10/27/20.
27:00 Celebrity J!
Spoiler
There were few TS clues and Mira is 2nd Oscar winner to play. Jodie Foster the first one. Jay had 4W in EQUATOR category and sang "I Lost On Jeopardy" when leaving the stage.
28:45 Host Chat and Ken asked what he will be for Halloween? Ken is not a big Halloween guy and no family theme. Ken used what he called vaudeville humor and saying Sarah will be a witch and asking her what her costume will be? There was loud audience laughter. Ken is aware of Ken from Barbie movie as idea for costume.

Some reference was made about the end of the movie and some kind of Ken name.

30:00 Chat with Lucy Ricketts
Spoiler
Lucy won 3 games when first on and had a lot of fan support that was kind and a touch overwhelming.

More of being J! famous came from people in her past than current recognition. Lucy used to watch with her grandmother who was loyal viewer.

Freelance work dried up during the pandemic so Lucy took the Anytime Test as a way to possibly make money. It was her first time trying to get on and she forgot all about it until getting the call.

Lucy played originally on 2nd game Ken guest hosted. It was haunting to miss a FJ! clue in CHILDREN'S BOOKS since she is an illustrator.

Ad 34:40 - 35:10 on Spotify.

Lucy was ToC alternate in 2022 and was honored to be in presence of so many great champs.

Lucy had no idea about their being a CWC until she got the call as she had recently moved and taken on a new job without keeping up with J!

Sarah mentioned how J! powers knew people wanted Lucy back. Lucy had three weeks to study and used J-Archive.

Lucy never expected to runaway with QF and Semis game. Lucy asked Contestant Producer John Barra if anyone ever threw up or passed out on stage and she felt the nerves. John reassured her that yes, it happens.

Lucy played Semis game and then right into Finals as all taped same day with little break in between. She was drained after Semis match. Lucy gave kudos to Josh and indicated that all of the Spades group is supporting him. Lucy also plans to fly in from Atlanta for ToC taping to support him.

Lucy is proud of 4/4 on FJ! clues in CWC as well as getting old boxer names. She no longer feels the "impostor syndrome".

Lucy's lunch choice was something from the salad bar and no meat and certainly not the poke bowl that Josh likes.

Lucy is happy to get the full contestant experience and making 26 new friends compared to first time with COVID restrictions.

Going into the CWC Lucy did not do research on possible opponents to avoid psyching herself out.

The surprise of coming back was how welcoming and supportive everyone is along with Lucy's own abilities such as taking care of herself & first time in hotel room by herself.
Next week - 10/30 week of games and Celebrity J! 11/1 game (Dulé Hill, Sheryl Underwood, Peter Facinelli) + unnamed chat.

now this one I knew I wanted to hear definitely since I was wondering how he became a alternate where I barely remember him. I think I said this before but my best guess is that he was sandwich during the tournament of champions right after a lot of super champions. but hearing from the beginning that he does not get recognised a lot at least tells me that (something here) Him talking about watching his games and and making strategies based on what he saw was A good idea. (this is for Cris Pannullo's episode)

I love the questions and answer episode. I love the joke about the "Pentagon" deciding the time even though I have heard that fact from the other jeopardy podcast. it was interesting to see Ken's friends be mentioned again though to mention it in terms of his becoming famous from the game is slightly harsh.

adding a history this week segment was a interesting addition. also with the host chat go in public there will probably be more unique questions. (even considering not everyone listens to the podcast)

this one is long but that is because everything seems to be getting more and more bizarre as this goes on, hopefully everything works itself out. so he likes second chance because he chose it great, Granted it is at least more realistic than this wildcard tournament. I guess we know why he did not completely think of it. (I actually think he's a OK producer I just enjoyed teasing) I am going to have to agreed on Brad with this, I hate wordplay categories. The seam in my opinion the Jeopardy game as a whole. (that might not be the most understandable way to phrase it but basically it does not belong in trivia) I have nothing against crosswords or word puzzles but stay away from jeopardy please. The episode where after this one he announces the writer are back, good and good. I will say that he said he wants to put original material back, depending on how he organises it in the middle of a tournament.

Being the reason we have a tournament in such a way was because it was not fair to have contestants have used material would that be the same the other way around, I understand why he would want original material but something I noticed. granted if this is added before wildcard began and was able to do everything during the end of Second chance the above might not be as much of an issue, i forgot it was a different tournament because this is only 2 episodes behind. (I made this before I found out they were excepting rejected clues , considering how long the show has been on and I never would have thought they will have gotten that desperate)

AndyTheQuizzer wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 5:24 pm Pray tell, what's going to happen to Jeopardy when linear broadcast television dies? What MD & Sony are doing is pivoting to a more viable long-term solution so it can still sell the show in a format that a streaming service is willing to buy in the future—because, quite frankly, syndicated TV is dying very quickly and there's no replacement for it under a streaming-only paradigm.

And that solution has significantly less regular play. The Jeopardy of 2018 is essentially dead and is not coming back. If that's a bridge too far for you, then so be it—it may well be for many. But the Jeopardy of 2018 isn't a viable production model for Netflix/Disney+/Amazon Prime/etc.—and so the show needs to fit into that model in order to ensure we still have something into the 2030s.
So syndicated game shows won't survive the transition from broadcast to streaming unless they're turned into reality shows?
Just what streamers need more of
well days of our lives is on Peacock in a serial format so it could be possible. (and there was one other soap they cannot remember the name that was successful on streaming but ended for the unrelated reason of copyright) problem with all of this The tournament of champions and all of these things for goodness sakes involve Champions or at least players. I said in the past that they would balance themselves out. that could be true with the original plan. with this plan it could be a problem. if he needs a reality show example think of the bachelor and the bachelorette.

Book back with the current plan first the better hope there is not going to be a super champion. (then we would have one player for the whole season) Second I still do not see how numbers if this goes to the middle of spring could even be possible.

The music approval situation was definitely interesting. I would admit it is some somewhat of a shock (in a good way) to be told as a YouTuber are that your song is going to be put on jeopardy. though I am kinda shocked that they even went through it and did not just say name the song only to the celebrity. (though it raises a few questions about the interview approval process)

I have enjoyed these few episodes but I wrote some of the stuff over the course of 2 months so consistency issues might be present. "we might have 16 weeks." if I wrote posts at a regular hour I would do the maths but considering that the cohost said it might be less. next season is going to be the shortest tournament of champions ever, even though not completely his fault. (in terms of the strike) he is way over his head at this point. hopefully something works itself out. I probably said somewhere but I will say again they probably should have just invited 1 seasons worth of champions not 2. (still it would be probably very big but this is unsustainable) possibly since making a tournament for a past season is now a thing. maybe it might just be best to plan this wildcard tournament next season. it is kind of crazy but so is everything else. there is obviously going to be a lack of new champions anyway (Champions are made from playing games) minus well fill up the time with that. I just realize he may have just made the first season in the world in which one person played a tournament eight times in the row.

if you dont like it, then hope that theres never a writers strike ever again.

JIT should have been Primetime, maybe give the winner a Masters Invitation or something.
we probably will not need champions wild card the good news is because everyone that won will be in the tournament of champions. (which I guess is understandable idea to make all games tournament of champions relevant, if that's where he has been going this whole time. but even that is not a sustainable permanently) but seriously this is over the top. if they are ever going to do this again I feel they should focus very hard on making it as fast as possible, I enjoy seeing old players in healing some of their stories but a s38 tournament instead of s37 and 38 could have been done instead.

To be fair, so did the Friedman regime; a chunk of season 24 used recycled clues (I assume that's what you mean) due to the 2007-08 WGA strike. Though they were still normal games.

no, I meant I was reading in one of the game discussions. (about a week ago, October 24 2023) (https://www.jboard.tv/viewtopic.php?p=4 ... ed#p400485) that they are now not just using recycled games. (which is where I thought everything was going) but thrown out rejected once. (The comment was about why it was likely thrown out originally) I understood they were going to be recycled ones, I just thought there were so many there never never need to go looking around for rejected ones.

That was just a presumption made by goongas (hence "Seems like to me" at the start of the sentence); there is nothing official saying they're using previously rejected clues.

11/6/23 "Who are T.J. Tallie & Dave Rapp" 1:01:00
Sarah & Buzzy host

The winner of the costume contest dressed up like James and used a prop of a trophy made from painting a traffic cone, black.

Hans was mentioned as a runner-up for dressing up like Pam. A Claudine dressed like Blossom when she was on J! Last year's winner was an Alexa Trebek this year.

A clip from the Stand Up to Cancer & Alex Trebek Fund announcement was played with Jean Trebek and Ken speaking. This Wed. the 8th will be three years since Alex died.

8:10 this week in J! history from 2015 ToC with Alex Jacob when he was in finals with Kerry Greene and Matt Jackson. Alex was mentioned as a possible for the JIT. Buzzy spoke about knowing Alex from All-Stars.

11:40 the 10/30 week of games:
Spoiler
T.J. got a runaway with help from knowing African history, his area of expertise. The hosts liked player Sarah using her newborn's toe as buzzer when watching at home.

The postgame chat from 10/30 was played about T.J. getting the call to play again.

The hosts were impressed by Hari's comeback after losing big on DD2.

Some pictures were shared online by J! leading to Halloween including Ken wearing a cape, but he did not wear it on the show on Tuesday. Ken did wear one of Alex's ties on the 31st and at Alex's service the attendees were each give an Alex-owned tie.

Dave coming back to play had different color mohawk so as not to blend into the background of the set as much.

Buzzy described Aaron's games in CWC as two not-convincing wins.
20:20 Celeb J! - Little was said about the 11/1 episode and instead the chatter was about no ep. on 11/8 due to CMA Awards and 11/15 ep. will have Culkin, Dratch and Lynch with Sarah teases is a great game.

21:45 Host Chat and Ken was asked how many suits he owns. Ken was 23 suits on J! set and they are nicer than the suits he has at home. Alex's suits were donated to org. that helps people look nice for job interviews.

Buzzy thinks he has at least 23 suits at home if not more and will count.

22:55 chat with Dave Rapp and T.J. Tallie.
Spoiler
Dave's audio was okay while T.J.'s had a little bit of a downgrade in quality.

Sarah ran T.J.'s audition in 2020 and Sarah thought she had found the next superchamp.

Dave was surprised he was not the first mohawk on J! when he was on the first time, but he does have the most wins to be greatest mohawk champ. Dave first tried out in 1996 driving from AZ to take the test in Culver City. He tried out maybe 7 more times over the year. He always passed the test but not great at the buzzer during mock games.

Dave completed his goal of making it to the FJ! Round and then later dreams of running a category, getting a DD right and winning a game in a runaway.

Sarah & co. purposely put the three mohawk guys in Diamonds, but were not going to put them in same game.

Before taping T.J. was in hotel lobby with hat on and recognized Dave & his mohawk. Both guys, of course, think their Diamonds group is superior to that of Spades. All in fun.

In returning for CWC Dave found the buzzer timing different and had to switch to wait for lights as they were coming on early sometimes. T.J. felt in the zone in his QF match.

Ads on Spotify 37:25 to 40:15
Dave and T.J. and perhaps others in Diamonds considered player Sarah the mom and Brian the grandpa. Dave & T.J. saw themselves as friendly uncles who would get you fireworks and themselves as barely adults.

Dave & T.J. call themselves "Bro-hawks".

They talked about being nervous and having anxiety before games air even though they know the results. When playing there can be JFS (Jeopardy! fugue state) and watch later and not recall everything that happened when playing.

For food, T.J. is vegan and in 2020 it was sandwiches in the parking lot. Later he made sure to have dark chocolate bar.

Dave had three bites of turkey & cheese sandwich first time then later panini and finally the dreaded poke bowl once he knew he would not playing after lunch break.

For stats Dave is proud of 30R 1W in debut and T.J. it's runaway in CWC QF game.

Dave is a lefty and found it hard to write with stylus cord when first on. The stylus is now wireless so easier for a lefty and makes Buzzy, a lefty, jealous that the technology is now wireless.

With some degree of joking to serious David & T.J. asked Jimmy then Sarah about their being new Clue Crew, the Bro-hawks. The former Clue Crewers weren't having it and the Bro-hawks felt a wall of ice.

Buzzy joked Bro-hawks 2 "The Search for Curly's Gold" and everyone had a laugh.

Best part of J! experience for Dave was giving shout out tribute to mom and having his daughters in the audience. Dave's mom used to not take phone calls when J! was on and Dave was watching when Alex began hosting in 1984.

T.J.'s grandma was on Concentration in 1991 and won a car. T.J. likes that his mom then got to see him on J!
Next week the 11/6 week of game and chat with Champions Wildcard Diamonds winner
*************
Mark Barrett comment: Is the first game with wireless stylus known or marked in archive? I would never notice that kind of thing and don't recall hearing of it until today.

While that could be "bad news" for the Davies tournies, syndication ratings have many factors. The ratings could be seen as better than the previous year by the fact that Jeopardy's ratings gap over WoF increased by 0.1.
Ok, bad ratings have continued and I think it *is* a Jeopardy decline. The WoF gap has narrowed and Family Feud's ratings are steady year over year. Ratings are down ~9% from last year.
