For the record, it is untrue that Jeopardy! producers "always" say the material for celebrities is of the same difficulty as in regular games.Anachronism wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 8:13 pmThat's what they always say, but the questions seem more like children's Jeopardy in practice. The SNL skits were a bit of an exaggeration, but not that much.
Alex Trebek would frequently imply that the celebrities get easier material (just as the TOC has more difficult material).
Here's an interview where he says it expressly:

I went to the WWTBAM archives (www.wwtbambored.com) and searched for his name. It didn't show up as being in any of the games. I'm not sure how inclusive the transcripts are, however.jeff6286 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 12:54 pmI thought I remembered him on WWTBAM in 2020-21 as well but the internet seems to think I'm crazy. Does anyone recall him showing up there, maybe he was a +1 for another celebrity? Though I would think it would pop up in my web searches so now I'm thinking I must just be mistaken

Probably good residuals, but does it put him in the position to chuck a mil? It's not Louis-Dreyfus money. (If you didn't know, her family was mega-rich apart from her actress work [she has denied it in interviews].)

I wonder if he could afford it now...Robert K S wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 9:06 amProbably good residuals, but does it put him in the position to chuck a mil? It's not Louis-Dreyfus money. (If you didn't know, her family was mega-rich apart from her actress work [she has denied it in interviews].)

These should always be taken with a grain of salt, but JL-D, $250M; Michael McKean, $12M.Robert K S wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 9:06 amProbably good residuals, but does it put him in the position to chuck a mil? He probably made a good chunk on Better Call Saul (on which he was excellent), but that's post-MDCI.

Don't forget his songwriting royalties from hit records by The Folksmen, The Thamesmen, and Spinal Tap.

Boy, I'd like to fail as hard as Patton Oswalt has, to the point where I'm so busy acting in live-action and voiceover roles that I barely have enough time to do standup comedy anymore.Anachronism wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 6:00 pmYou don't put a failed comedian like Patton Oswalt on screen if you don't want Patton Oswalt's "brand" of humor...

Okay, I guess the fact that someone here called him a "failed comedian" tells me all I need to know.trainman wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 12:13 amBoy, I'd like to fail as hard as Patton Oswalt has, to the point where I'm so busy acting in live-action and voiceover roles that I barely have enough time to do standup comedy anymore.Anachronism wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 6:00 pmYou don't put a failed comedian like Patton Oswalt on screen if you don't want Patton Oswalt's "brand" of humor...

Celebrity Jeopardy!?
If so, sounds like a coding nightmare for Robert. I won't be archiving those games, so the worst for me will be using Excel to redesign a scoresheet.
Reddit put the kibosh on any spoilers from today's taping while those mods don't control every person and every place on the web. One Reddit post did mention that Eddie Huang put on Instagram that he'll be a contestant.

It would have been more impressive if you'd posted this before the taping.

But if I told folks before, you wouldn’t have been able to post that snarky comment, and I didn’t want to take that from you.seaborgium wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 5:45 am It would have been more impressive if you'd posted this before the taping.

Oh joy. Three rounds of d-listers acting like idiots.

No one's forcing you to watch...
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.
