I was scorning Ken's rock-critic judgment when he called Beck Ed Sheerin-light...then I realized he said Ed Sheerin-like. I guess I can't dispute that since I didn't recognize him...
I knew where the Parana was, and grasped the last-syllable essence of the clue pretty quickly, but still couldn't come up with the right countries...

Ditto. I got on the right track by deciding there is not a Brazil River, and moving south on the continent always takes me to Uruguay. Easy from there, although even easier if you know the 12 countries cold without drawing a mental map. (And of course I didn't know there was a Paraguay or Uraguay River or even a Parana River.)
