Re: Season 39 preemptions
Tonight will likely see preemptions for coverage of the Tyre Nichols incident video footage. WBBJ is known to have preempted the show partially for coverage of a statement his family gave.
EDIT: ABC went into a special report from 7:30 PM Eastern, which lasted about seven minutes.

CBS has three hours of Farmers Insurance Open, so will have to affect some affiliates. The nerve of KPIX locally not to show reruns of Judge Judy.

WHAS in Louisville was affected. Would like to be able to watch it, but the station didn't put it on at another time.

I mistyped - it didn't record on my DVR. They may have put it over on MeTV, but my DVR isn't sophisticated enough to catch that.

Re: Season 39 preemptions
Sometimes WLKY will update the listings on the MeTV subchannel if they know there will be a pre-emption but they did not in this case; the MeTV schedule at 7:30 still showed a MASH rerun.
Not many people can say they've lost four times on Jeopardy!.

Re: Season 39 preemptions
This Tuesday the 7th is the State of the Union Address. KGO will air WoF followed by J! 10-11.
Usually I learn a new politician's name and office with the opposite party response. Not this time as I could already i.d. Sarah Huckabee Sanders as the Arkansas governor.

Re: Season 39 preemptions
Backward-looking posts aren't likely to help anybody, but Tuesday's (2/14/23) broadcast on WMTW (Auburn/Portland, Maine) was preempted for the governor's State of the Budget address. In past years, they used to rebroadcast preempted episodes late at night, but they no longer seem to do that. I had to track down a (probably highly illegal) recording of the episode on YouTube.

They often help me piece together why I'm missing an episode.

Re: Season 39 preemptions
ABC, CBS, and NBC affiliates that air Jeopardy! at 7:00 PM Eastern interrupted tonight's episode for coverage of the Alex Murdaugh verdict. I know that WABC interrupted it during the commercial break before the contestant interviews.
EDIT 7:13 PM: WABC returned to airing Jeopardy! right before

Re: Season 39 preemptions
Not exactly a preemption, but a regional Spectrum cable service outage may have prevented many in Cleveland from watching (and DVR'ing) the show last night (final game of the HSRT). If your DVR didn't pick up the game, this is why.

Re: Season 39 preemptions
A lot of NCAA hoops on 3/16 and 3/17 on CBS. Any affiliates sneaking in an early airing of J!? More likely is TPIR will air before the tourney games in the CT and ET.

Looking like YouTube for me the next two days.

Re: Season 39 preemptions
FWIW, in Cleveland, Jeopardy! will not air tonight (Thursday 3/16) or Friday (3/17) "because NCAA coverage is scheduled to go to midnight and network programming is scheduled from 12:35-4:30AM".

Re: Season 39 preemptions
Glad I've been catching the games on YouTube for the last week, since this is another day where my provider (via Paramount Plus) has opted for March Madness over J!. Them's the breaks!
