DD2 and DD3 hiding for a while made the DJ! round exciting. When the guys were calling clues I found myself shaking my head "no" more times for Dan's picks than Cris's picks.

Dan did 14200-5000 with Cris at 21200. Even with a hit Dan would have still trailed and with a miss, well, we saw what happened. Ball game.

At least Cris solved the FJ! clue to take away a lot of the "What if" game. I matched the gentlemen only after dismissing the Philippines and Indonesia in thinking Asian islands and such at first.

20 games this season and 0/20 for the middle spot winning a game.

Most water area as a total or percentage?

Also, was yesterday or today the 5th win?

Fixed, thanks. A 6th win on a Friday had my count one off.

Another week complete: https://j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=7462

Friday friendly on the media clues, thank you writers.

If Cris had finished with 25,624 would Ken have worked in a Chicago ad lib?

Well, I was closer than I thought on the Greek food. *Spano...spani...spah...* (time runs out) Moussaka?
But Spanakopita at least resembles it a little in overall form (at least, in some constructions)

Started thinking Philippines or Indonesia, then did the math: 350,000 at 9% means 3.5 mil at 100% means 3500 * 1000. That puts it on par more with the US than some archipelago; easy jump to Canada with all the inland water
The best thing that Neil Armstrong ever did, was to let us all imagine we were him.
Latest movies (1-10): Everything Everywhere All at Once (10), Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken (6), Black Sunday /1960/ (6), Marcel the Shell with Shoes On (7)

This was my gateway to the answer. 3.5 million square miles is a big chunky country. I thought the Great Lakes may contribute to the total, and if not, there could be a lot of smaller lakes.

Cris is a good player. But my runaway limit is reached so I will be pulling for the underdogs.

I tried spanakopita after it came up on Jeopardy! before and it's really good. You can get easy-to-cook frozen ones at some grocery stores. If you try it I don't think you'll get it confused with moussaka.

Cris has great trivia knowledge, buzzes in aggressively, hunts for daily doubles, wagers reasonably, and has been mostly consistent across his games. I like to see contestants get over a million dollars and even though it's early it seems like he is a strong candidate for it. Look forward to watching him play again on Monday!

The upcoming Celebrity Jeopardy! will probably be a bit more serious than last week and I hope I get a chance to learn something.

Still no Southern California contestants this season. I suppose it's only fair since there was an abundance of Southern California contestants in the last few years and everybody else deserves a chance. But they did have auditions in LA/Culver City so I assume there will be some contestants later in the season.
I had a dream that I was asleep and then I woke up and Jeopardy! was on.

I would have run the biblical anagrams category, but they rearranged Elisabeth instead of Elizabeth and that threw me off.

Another $10,000 on his score wouldn't have helped Dan in FJ, but I have to wonder how aggressive Cris would have been on the DD he missed had he had Dan within reach. If Dan had gotten his DD right, Cris would have been leading by $4,000, with $4,800 still on the board, when the last DD was revealed. I suspect Cris still would have eased off at that point either way, but I can't know for sure.

I was thinking less about lakes and more about the water between islands when I thought of Canada. 350k square miles being 9% of its area meant an overall area of more than 3.5 million square miles, so I was comfortable with my first guess after doing the math.

I just meant in a totally superficial visual way (...plus it helps if you squint a little), they can both come out looking like something from the lasagna order

That's the spelling used by the King James Bible, Jeopardy!'s Bible of record. It's closer to the Greek spelling of ελισάβετ though it still ends in a -th even though the Greek ends in an unaspirated τ rather than a θ.

He seemed like a nice guy but his chat segment rubbed me the wrong way.
