2023 RIP thread
A thread to note the notables who will leave us this year.
Re: 2023 RIP thread
Here is an example of an excellent post from last year.
My two cents.
The archive hits are a useful tool. In my opinion, any post in this thread should include at least one archive hit. Otherwise, if there are no archive hits, it’s almost certainly not Jeopardy canon.MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 10:06 pm Richard Leakey - January 2nd

Guitarist Jeff Beck, age 78, from bacterial meningitis. Beck has often been cited as one of the greatest guitarists ever (landing at #5 on Rolling Stone's Top 100 list) and replaced Eric Clapton in The Yardbirds when Clapton went solo. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice: as part of the Yardbirds and once as a solo artist.
Not many people can say they've lost four times on Jeopardy!.

Singer and songwriter Barrett Strong, at age 81. He had an early Motown hit singing "Money (That's What I Want)," and then wrote the lyrics to a number of other Motown hits (with Norman Whitfield writing the music): "I Heard It Through the Grapevine," "War," and "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)," among many others.
