Is he the last of the great songwriters? Seems like everyone after him was a singer-songwriter. I guess Jim Steinman qualifies. He came after but died before. Maybe, with Hal David, Burt was also part of the last great songwriting team.

I would put Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez in that category. Robert is one of the 18 EGOTs, and the youngest.
