When you wish the DJ! round had ended at clue 29 instead of 30? What is Juneteenth? :o

The FJ! clue being geography and size was the perfect to stop my 8 in a row. Even with the advantage of comfort at home instead of on stage like the players, I took a blank page to match Hannah.

I eliminated the top 5. Great. From there there was a lot of uncertainty and I wasted too much time thinking that colony was going to mean Africa. Algeria, Sudan and DR Congo ate up precious seconds. Like Brad I thought about Kazakhstan. I got so far astray I wondered about Indonesia.

The correct response seems so obvious and yet I could not figure it out in time. At least it was not a miss in entertainment.

When Hannah's run began there was a lot of online chatter that I took as hyped excitement based on one good opening game. The expectations seemed over-enthused from predicting 5x+, over $100K, ToC, long streak, playing Ben Chan... It's all coming to fruition and the last one is drawing even closer.

No guess on FJ! today.

Apparently, Princess Margaret was a "gin & tonic" person. But can someone explain the "wrong" answer in the $1K AFTER SCHOOL category?

Balance an egg on it and go from start to finish as quickly as possible without Humpty-Dumptying the egg. That's had a correct response. Or you mean some other clue?

I memorized the list of the top 10 countries in the world by land area way back when. I don't see any way I get this FJ clue otherwise.

I got the FJ because I knew it was established in 1901, that it has 6 states, and that it is also the 6th largest country in the world.

Indonesia was my backup guess, so maybe I'm biased in thinking it doesn't deserve the eyeroll. It's the 4th largest country by population, but down at number 15 for area. It definitely has a colonial past, so it's got that going for it. Which is nice.

My main guess was Brazil even though I thought I recalled it was 5th largest for area (which it is). It's also 7th largest for population, which is irrelevant but puts it in the right mental space for consideration.

My wife's guess was Australia, which I didn't think was a bad guess, but I also wasn't inclined to switch to it. So even if the right response had occurred to me, this still wouldn't have been my night.

My first thought was South Africa, figuring on some sort of post Boer War consolidation, but I realized it was too small. British colonies put me on the right track to Australia, and the date clicked.

I’m surprised how many people didn’t get Final Jeopardy right - here on the show. I was very thankful to have this one, knowing Australia formed in 1901 and has six states.

Thought Brazil, considered Australia, stayed with Brazil. Not the most regrettable thing related to this episode.

Here in Arizona it's observed in April, because it's just too damn hot in June to have celebratory picnics and such.

That must be why Winnipeg has Octoberfest in august. Too cold in october.
