Suresh is 3/3 on wagering clues while Kristine was 1/3 and Collette was 1/2.
Mayim just can't help herself sometimes. What is [name of mountain]? Yes, what is Mt. ____?
Yeah, those were not the right three players to get the video game console [along with a slew of other TS clues], but it still hurt my heart as those games are all-time classics. The pain continued as the book series (well done by the author) and actress with picture also had me ringing in from the 4th podium.
On the other hand I do understand why the game played tough for the contestants as I only managed 28/58 and a 22,800 Coryat.
The FJ! clue had me guess Croatia for some place in that area. Congrats to Collette and Suresh making it go 2/3 and we'll see if the weekly poll goes over 66%.

In spite of the many TSes, there were no 0/5 categories, though the Presidental Line category in DJ was 0/4 before time ran out. Kind of impressed that Astronomical Anagrams went 4/5, extra descriptors or no.
I went 4/5 on the 90s Kid category; completely blanked on the frosted tips clue. Was also a little sad to see Novel Character Breakdown $1200 go unclaimed, but that book is a tome.
Sure, there are contestants who have off days and weak categories, but to whoever put "bruh" into Into The Woods $1000: go in the corner for five minutes and think about what you wrote.

Super Mario 64 was one of the first 3D games I ever played, albeit as a confused first grader, but I beat it on the DS over a decade later as a teenager. Still need to play and beat Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 1:40 pm Yeah, those were not the right three players to get the video game console [along with a slew of other TS clues], but it still hurt my heart as those games are all-time classics.
"Everything ends. Life goes on. I'll be gone. So will you. So hug people tightly. Take joy in their heartbeats and drink something cold and go play in the shade. That is all." -Bob Harris, Prisoner of Trebekistan

DJ26 reminded me of those clips of late night hosts asking people on the street the most basic questions about the current leaders of the government. Blank stares all around or complete laughable answers.

55 R (Couldn't get Drew Barrymore and missed the Bottom Two in Join the Club.)
DD: 3/3
FJ:
Interesting episode. There were a bunch of clues I expected to go TS but didn't, and a number of clues I expected would get answered correctly and weren't.

Fourth podium poll is up. Remember to set aside plenty of time if you want to take this in one sitting.

That's... got to be a clam record. Definitely the most I've seen since I started watching the show almost 20 years ago. Unreal.

So I don't think the writing was great.
And maybe referring to the Treasury Secretary by her old job is a little elliptical - but it's not that obscure, and it would follow the Fed Chair might wind up as Treasury Secretary.
But you have to know who the current Attorney General is. Or the Speaker of the House.
What an absolute garbage display.

Learning the current cabinet officers should be on your short list study guide if you get the call.
Guessed Serbia for FJ.

For weeks I was hoping you were going to make a remark about the show number being all 8's.MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 2:40 pm A ton of action for the 4th podium: https://j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=8041

Sorry, with "make it today's game" I do not even notice that kind of thing. I do see that the Dodgers & Reds are 6-6 in the 6th.Robert K S wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 8:53 pmFor weeks I was hoping you were going to make a remark about the show number being all 8's.MarkBarrett wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 2:40 pm A ton of action for the 4th podium: https://j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=8041
