Comics artist Ramona Fradon, who did a lot of work for DC Comics over the years (including co-creating the character Metamorpho). She's also well-known for drawing the comic strip "Brenda Starr" from 1980 to 1995. She was 97, and had just announced her retirement from comics earlier this year.

I wasn't interested in Brenda Starr itself, but I did like knowing who did every comic strip I was aware of, so I remember the "Fradon and Schmich" "signature" on it. I don't think I ever learned their first names at the time.

This one was sad to me. My wife and I watched a few "Curb Your Enthusiasm" episodes after not seeing it for a few years and I commented that I was surprised that Richard Lewis was still alive.

In the last episode that has aired and in which RL appears (from 2 Sundays ago) Richard and Larry spend some time talking about their mortality. It was funny then...

I'll check after I post this (I need a little excitement in my life), but I think I remember Fradon as collaborating with Steve Skeats on Plasticman when DC revived the character in the 70s.
I'm smart and I want respect.

I just got a notification that Iris Apfel, the designer, has died at the age of 102. The name didn't sound familiar but when I saw her picture, I recognized her. I would describe her as an older white-haired woman with oversized black glasses. I looked to see if she was in the J! canon and she was in a clue in November 2022 at the age of 101.
