When the one hit wonders guy gets picked he has no choice but to challenge whoever owns the big spot. Whoever wins that could then go after her although they would have many other options including the other really huge space.

for the political category I am kind of shocked they accepted Jackson considering the amount of Jackson's they are historically in politics. (I know jeopardy if there is a decent amount it will make you say the first name) It is cool watching to see their reasoning for choosing but it really ruins the strategic elements when everyone is saying what they have problems and so their competitors can catch them. (as seen after president categories where she says she has trouble with the surrounding categories for various reasons)

this was the worst book category I am not sure how they chose the covers but they are generics. we got someone saying 'this part is really weird' with the countdown. it is for drama and the footage editors. (just be happy she is not on some of the foreign versions Tu urmezi (Romanian) which use images of lightning bolts with stormy skies) she said eyelash curler even the subtitles got it. she lost because of that so she should come back or something. megamind really did make me think the film montage got mixed. I guess I am starting to see that when they run out of stuff they go to cartoon characters.

if they ever get a renewal for the show they will really really need to fix the timer controllers because I have seen three seconds pass without a stop after an answer and usually they are the three seconds in which a person wins or losers. It also makes the show looks sloppy, and like a nonworking game. I think some of the issues is the judging table but they need to give back the seconds after they finish and not allowed the buzzer to timeout. if anyone here can think of a good time lock way I would love to hear. (my best guess would be one button for fact checking in one button for accepting)

I have a whole paragraph with 6 sentences about anything but I am cutting it. I will say I was singing I "see you play the game" while watching this. (it was a disaster on Golden Row forum when I explained montages for the Bob Barker tribute and I was just explaining on screen possible editing methods not reasoning for them) of course you see I am geeking out on the footage editors perspective. but I will say with the amount of promotional footage she appears in keep an eye out for the woman in the star hoodie. (granted a lot of the promotional footage she appears is also repetitive so keep that in mind)

this is a lyric video of the song mentioned.

Some of the contestants have amused me when trying to act like a villain with arrogance or boasting. I like that not all 81 have been trying to portray the episodes as kumbaya. Whether natural behavior, producer coaxed or mind games it's fine by me that the show is not displaying nice all the time.

Once a match is over the good sports gestures are fine and no longer is there a need to try to psych some one. Before a match? Sure, stick your tongue out or predict winning.

Rob seemed to have a fair amount of post production work to do to summarize vocally floor tallies as often his audio sounded different when giving updates.

I wonder if he really reads out all the choices “live” or if there is a list we can’t see and then he adds his narration later if they actually make a challenge.

The hip hop lady only has one neighbor as well but it doesn’t have that much territory right now.

The person in control at the end will have an interesting choice. They can challenge the other remaining player at their category or they can step down and get to play their own category.

It kind of sucks the winner could very well be someone who only has to play one match. It will be funny if the final category is one neither player knows anything about, like identifying hip hop or country singers.

We are down to 25 players. Of those there are 18 who only have one square and can be picked by the randomizer. From those 18, two only have one neighbor, each on one of the big sections.

Of the other seven:

One controls 26 squares (Human body)
One controls 24 squares (One hit wonders)
Three control 3 squares (Country music, snacks, international foods)
Two control 2 squares (US States, Geography)

The funniest error of the night was mine and not a contestant's as I saw KM and blurted Frederick Douglass.

I'd like to know what the invisible lady in the upper left said to her southern neighbor as it seemed like she was dishing some advice ahead of the randomizer. Historic headlines had losing proposition written all over it while the other choice of int'l foods seemed the lesser of two evils.

I’d have gone for the headlines even though that puts a target on my back. I’m not dealing with international foods. Yes, it goes against my advice of staying small but I felt a lot more comfortable with a history category. I got them all correct, even the trail that didn’t actually exist in 1806.

Interesting the whole show revolved around that one territory and eight new players got on stage.

The one guy was pretty good on flags but I bet he wouldn’t have beaten a certain boardie.

Why did they have to put a map on world capitals and make us hunt for the name? It cluttered up the screen and slowed things down.

Next week is a two hour finale. I was thinking the last match would be 80 vs. 1 but after last night maybe not.

I said "Missouri River" feeling that was the most likely reasonable answer. Totally taken aback when that one was revealed...

It finally happened... I recognized Nicholas instantly as a professor that started in my program shortly after I graduated. He did quite well -- shame he got a bit unlucky with the randomizer at the end. I'd imagine he'd be decent on J! with his reasonably good breadth of knowledge and depth in STEM areas.

One of the contestants said Roosevelt before passing which lost him three seconds for a correct answer. Why are the people who are checking the answers so sloppy, i usually limit how much I complain per episode knowing I did not walk a mile in their shoes but this one is really unforgivable being that he repeated it either twice or three times before passing. (they said many other last names of prolific people that would require a first name on jep so I am assuming it's not that)

many of the battles had amazing flow to the point I forgot to even play along. I am excited for the finale next week. Instruments was amazing duel, one of the 'big players' that seems to know the the 'mass-market' portion of the category (I am not sure the term for it) got sent home for not knowing some of the cultural instruments. later on , you knew the guys around it was going to have to deal with it but I would love to hear what is going on when they check a question because of how blatant it is.

To make it easier for people who cannot remember the name on the top of their head. this board is slightly skewed on the memorise everything order which there is nothing wrong with that but a good chunk of people do not have a library of capital country names on the top of their head without something to jog it. remember they knew that it was not guaranteed that the person who eventually played it was the person who was the 'expert' in it. also it increases play ability at home for the average people Who also mostly do not know capitals. but I do understand what you possibly saying , technically it would probably be a lot more difficult with the screen that big to try to find the name even though I cannot say for certain since I have never been that close to something of that size.

So did my 13-year-old. And I would put him up against anyone in a world flags category!

SNL did a spoof on the 2/24 ep. and there were a couple of good laughs in there. And one specifically was funnier for some JBoarders.

What was the painting with two people in hoods? Or whatever the face coverings were.

The Lovers II by Rene Magritte.

Link. I think there might be a not safe for children word in there.

How close is that to the actual show? I haven't caught any of it.

Thanks for the painting/artist and rounding up the video link.

Each player has a 45-second clock that counts down. If a player passes then it's a 3-second penalty. Michael Longfellow was quite good as Rob Lowe.

Before each match begins there is non-game play to determine if the winner stays to challenge another player or goes back to the floor and the randomizer picks a different player to be the challenger.

2-hour finale this week.

On my TV the milk looked like water - it was the same color as the background - so it took a while to get the point of that part...
