Playing originally:
Alex 2x
Ed 1x and got in through play-in game
Suzanne 1x and lost to Ben G.

The key moment of the game was DD3 with $3200 remaining on the board.

Suzanne did 11800+2500 with Alex at 26000. While Suzanne did break the lock and hold off the runaway with the remaining clues she did not set up a path to win on the "TS" FJ clue.

So far this CWC is a little strange when after four games there definitely could have been two different winners, if not three.

The FJ! clue was a fail for me in a different way. I wrote "A Boy Named Sue" in thinking Cash sings the song more straight than like a novelty song.

During think time I thought/knew/sensed 1956 was the wrong year for my guess. In thinking older songs I considered "Ring Of Fire" but saw no way to make it work for the clue. I would have stayed on the older path the right song should have occurred to me next.

What I can't know is if I match Ken with the correct title or the players with the incorrect one. My instincts are telling me 60/40 right over wrong as on J! or somewhere else I've come across the movie title not quite like the song. I wished I had turned the clue into a movie one as that could have only helped.

Yeah, thanks writers, I need 10+ media clues in the J! Round.

Alex got the Clockwork Orange clue that mentioned his name.

No trouble on FJ.

Regarding Super Bowl Stars $400, Phil Simms did indeed win the 1987 Super Bowl. However two decades later, in 2007, PEYTON Manning and the Colts won the Super Bowl. Eli and the Giants won in 2008.

I’m thinking TPTB need to hire a writer that knows how to construct Oscar and Super Bowl clues without screwing up the years.

In FJ the contestants were probably more aware of the movie than the song.

On the bright side, Suzanne’s DD wager wound up likely costing her the game.

I had Folsom Prison Blues, which was released in 1955.

I think "two decades" has enough play in it to make the clue work.

The big flub on years was on J!12; the interval between the deaths of Prince Albert and Queen Victoria was nearly 40 years, not nearly 50.

Blah, went with Ring of Fire in FJ, didn't realize I Walk the Line had been released that early. For some reason I thought it didn't come out until the 60s...

I couldn't decide if the song title had an "I" in it or not. The right thing to do in that case is go with "I Walk the Line" since they let you get away with adding words to a song title as long as those words are in the song. (Right? I can't think of an example, but I'm pretty sure we've had that happen.) For some reason I decided it was important to stick with "Walk the Line." So I'll be checking the box that says I matched all three contestants. Sigh.

Yes, the song where a man inexplicably is sent to a California prison after murdering a man in Nevada!

I considered "I Walk the Line" and "Ring of Fire" and went with the correct one even though it didn't seem like a slam-dunk. I would never have guessed all three would get the name of the song wrong.

I also guessed FPB, and I'm glad to learn it wasn't totally off base :D

Immediately thought of "I Walk the Line" (with the mandatory "I", thank you) but before the Think! music had ended I also managed to consider both "Ring of Fire" (which I once heard called "the theme from Satan's bathtub") and "Folsom Prison Blues", but not forcefully enough to sway me from the correct response.

So, how many of the novels in "End of Story" have you actually read? I can claim two.

The rightmost DJ category, END OF STORY. The correct responses were Of Mice and Men, Frankenstein, "The Lottery," A Clockwork Orange, and Gilead. I can also only claim two (probably the two shortest ones). Edit: Well, one, really; the other isn't a novel.

I've read Of Mice and Men, A Clockwork Orange and "The Lottery." One guess which of those was not assigned in a class.
