When Diandra played DD3 she trailed with 11200 against Deb at 12800. While $2,000 gained her the lead, there were plenty of clues remaining for Deb to retake the lead with room to spare.

Another group hug at the end for more "Kumbaya" in this CWC group.

CANADIAN MEDICINE had me make one precall and immediately I could see the clue was clearly not Banting/insulin. I worked it out to match the players though needing some think time.

Too bad Lisa did not know how to wager in the QF game as Taylor making it to semis did little for him besides the extra $5K.

Semis #2: https://j-archive.com/showgame.php?game_id=8826

Mercifully few media clues had me wondering if ON STATES' HIGHWAY WELCOME SIGNS was going to have images and it turned out the licensing fees were exorbitant? Or I just caught a break today and tomorrow will be the opposite.

This game is a draw for the Strong Form of Shore's Conjecture. The second-place player bet "small." --Bob

Missed this in LL with over an 80% get rate a couple seasons ago. Didn’t miss it again.

If I ever get the call, this is one thing you’ll never see. :D

I thought cough was too generic to be the answer, and went with whooping cough, which I guess is too specific.

Absolutely!

Ken: Golf, you found the DD on the first clue. You can wager up to $1000.

Why so many personal messages during final lately? I thought that was discouraged or actually forbidden at some point.

If ever there were a situation for an audience member to cough, this was it.

The show got fed up with James Holzhauer doing in every single Final response after three-plus weeks, so they told him to knock it off. Nobody has since tested the show's patience to that extent on the matter.

Ditto on too generic but I went with bronchitis. Maybe, just maybe, that might have passed on LL.

So what exactly *was* the antitussive that Buckley developed? Guaifenesin or dextromethorphan? Turns out it was actually some blend that reads like an old snake-oil formula.

I had a persistent cough some years back and took to sucking on cloves to numb the throat and eliminate the tickle. The Watkins guy at the Arizona state fair had never heard of that use for one of his products, so I ended up educating him.
